  Alternator was tested and apparently fine and was wondering if egm light is linked to all of this and possible smart charge faulty loom, was thinking even when the engine was out for dmf replacement has the smart charg. Wiring been disturbed advice please help!!

  This is a 2010 plate diesel with the 136bhp engine with 40K on the clock. About a year ago at 24K the clutch and DMF were changed under warranty. I had reported what I thought was slipping and they found oil contamination and excessive play in the DMF. A modified clutch was fitted but I don't know what that really means but they told me the 407 did have a slipping clutch problem that this is supposed to address.

  Can anyone help I've got an 04 focus tdci ltd ed and have been loosing power after 3k revs I was told dmf so I've replaced clutch and fly wheel but still have same prob also tried maf sensor change. Now being told turbos gone. Any advice please.

  Last year I had a complete new clutch and DMF replaced About 5,000 miles later the clutch as started slipping when the car as warmed up, it's fine when cold and I've also noticed oil leaking from the gear box. What is the likely cause of this.

  1.9 Multijet 3dr Sports Hatch 2007 Garage seems to think it a single mass and not a dual mass.. Right or wrong? Has anyone else heard of this? I always thought they had dmf, but they said some have and some havent, but mainly the fiat vans had them...but to be honest id be alot happier with the single haha.   Thanks   Jake

  Is this to stop Toyota being sued if the car is started in gear and hits something? bit like the cut out on some motor cycle side stands. Or does it have a DMF that could be damaged if started in gear by accident?

  I always wondered what the relationship is between people who pootle along or even try to request too much power off boost and who change at say 2k... what effect that has on soot, DMF, turbo etc.

  Hi All, My 2014 Toyota Auris 1.4 diesel is due a new clutch because of slipping issues. Im not sure whether this has a dual mass flywheel or not. I called Toyota and they said it is a dmf but I called two other parts stores and both confidently said it's a single mass flywheel. Can anyone help. Many thanks

  I am seeking some advice on whether its better to buy a petrol Octavia  over a diesel. My main worry with the diesel is the usual dpf, dmf and injector problems. I do about 40k a year and get paid 20p a mile fuel plus a monthly payment. I can't afford the new CR diesel and so it would be a PD if I bought one. Any advice would be appreciated.

  In my mind, This just looks like a band aid to poor throttle/clutch control. It also seems to be unnecessarily hard on the clutch/DMF assrmbly-particularly in diesels. I would have  thought that advanced motorists would have little difficulty in modulating tractive effort with the throttle...

  We changed the fuel filter, the old filter was all clean, nothing in the diesel whatsoever, injectors all under lots of pressure.  We also changed the crankshaft sensor which was covered in iron filings (DMF?).  Once done we took the car out, ran better than ever, so put it down to the sensor being covered in filings. Took into garage to replace DMF, but told that it didn't need changing, but driveshaft was badly worn.

  Hi all, I have a problem with my 2002 Mondeo tddi, I had a wobble on the front under braking, so put this down to a warped disc and was going to renew both on th front, but before I could do it the dmf went, so it's just had a new dmf and clutch etc. The lower rear gearbox mount is also shot, evident by the sound of it clonking when taking up drive or when going on or off the throttle when in motion, the garage has ordered one and are going to change it on Monday.

  With2 kids under 4 and it being 9pm we just got a taxi home with all our belongings but I'm going back today to call the AA and see what the issue is. Just really worried as heard lots of horror stories about the dmf. I'm confused though as has already had clutch and dmf replaced. Any advice please? thanks

    It has developed a clonking noise when the clutch takes up the drive and when changing gear.  I thought it was the DMF but the Toyota main dealer said it was the rear mid engine mounting  This was changed but the noise is unaltered.  Toyota is now saying that it is feature of the model - even though it was not present for the first couple of months.

  Must admit, have chickened out and sold my 3 and a bit year old dpf/dmf fitted diesel, beforeencountering problems, but got fed up of the regualr expensive additional oil and filter changes.

  Hi,i'm selling a new Genuine Citroen Full clutch kit,part number 2051.F7,this is the type which is used with the Dual Mass Flywheel not the standard flywheel.I bought this thinking my car,C4 1.6hdi,was a Dmf type,but when i replaced engine i discovered mine was a standard clutch,so this wont fit mine.so a bargain for someone.

  Has anyone got one whats it like on fuel? I can't afford a new shape diesel and have concerns anyway about dpf dmf problems with diesels. Any advice would be appreciated.

  I e if a part such as an exhaust fails on a second hand car after 9 months would this be considered durable?  (my view probably Yes) If what about a bigger failure say after 18 months like a DMF or something which potentialy would be extremly expensive to repair? Would that be considered durable under the act? (my view probably No).
