  I am due to go to France on Saturday. The country is currently suffering turmoil from strikers and there are fuel shortages in some regions. I can get down to the house on a tank of diesel from home in the UK but don't want to get stranded. Given that I have a large tank of heating oil at the house could this be used in the Santa Fe in an emergency?

  Hi Any diesel speacialists??? Got problems starting after being left overnight.Changed glow plugs and checked glow plug relay,no improvement.Now found that fuel is running back from fuel filter housing and once i manually prime the fuel system(using priming bulb)she starts instantly and is fine all day.Checked all connections for air leaks and can only see a small diesel leak and slight hissing on top of the bosch diesel pump by throttle arm.

  My 91 tipo turbo diesel wouldn't start today after running for about 3 hrs I came home for a while and when I went to leave it just spluttered for a while with no power then died. Have checked for fuel which is present engine side but there seems to be no suction from the fuel pump.

  Last year i was getting 58mpg on my clio but the MPG dropped massively to 50mpg and even after a minor service in January , The MPG  didn't improve, So i booked the car into ATS for a Major service last month which included adding Techron D Concentrated Diesel Fuel System Cleaner which i would imagine into the fuel tank. After a few days and a run on the motorway, I am now getting the 58 MPG so i would imagine that the Cheap fuel that i buy from Esso isn't all that clean. " I have a Card for Esso" ATS is selling Techron D Concentrated Diesel Fuel System Cleaner at £32 a shot with a ebay seller selling at £15 a shot, I just wonder if how this competes against Red X and other engine cleaners, Its certainly cleaned out my engine and it maybe worth buying a couple of bottles  I may give the ESSO synergy supreme a try the next time i fill up.

  My hubby has a 1.5D Corsa, on which he changed the fuel filter yesterday. According to the manual, there is a bleed screw on the top of the filter housing, which you bleed until it flows with diesel, to ensure no air in the system. He tried this, even taking the screw right out instead of the 2 turns the manual recommends, and no fuel appears.

  Has anyone noticed how much petrol has gone up with diesel remaing static in a few outlets around the Leeds area petrol is now dearer than diesel and many have it at the same price.Having just come back from Germany where fuel prices have dropped since their usual easter rise and in Holland where diesel was 102 cents a litre why the increase in the UK?

  Germany is asking the EU to urgently review their ban on petrol and diesel engines and  to consider running these cars on E-fuels.  The engines would still emit carbon at the exhaust but a carbon offset at production of the new fuel would offset this.  A device fitted to the engines would not allow the cars to run on petrol or diesel.
