They come with 12 month warranties as opposed to 1 to 3 monthes on the used boxes, but should I (or is it reasonable to?) ask for a report? Is there anything else I should ask? Many thanks Ian -

Bought a car with no service book - what can I do? 27 Sep 2008 (Forum)
If so I was thinking of using that as leverage to tell the dealer that the car they sold me might not have done 15k as they had advertised and see if I can wheedle a service and warranty out of them. Any advice? Thanks --Amr -

Meriva car audio Car 2005 10 May 2007 (Forum)
Whilst having the warranty work done on my Meriva, i noticed a dealers offer to fit an ipod kit to the car. I don't have an ipod, but a different mp3, so need a 3.5mm jack input. Reading through the manual for the radio (Car 2005) it seems to have an input, for a mobiel phone or sat nav, which the4 radio will switch to when it senses an input signal. -
Advice welcomed! Newbie seeks car £3-4K 9 May 2005 (Forum)
Would anyone have any views on a good second-hand car to get for £3-4K? I know very little about cars so will probably buy from a car supermarket (Car Giant?) Main use will be around town but with some forays a few hours away. Was wondering about a Ford Ka (looking at recent postings...) and a Peugot 406. -

Nissan X-Trail (2001 - 2007) - 05 2.0 Clutch replacement 25 Jan 2011 (Forum)
The dealer is not charging full price for the part and is not charging me labour on it, but the whole shebang is costing about £1700 in total. How is it that Nissan has not issued a recall on its cars as the intercooler seems to be a general problem; and surely a clutch on a manul transmission car should last longer than 48,000 miles? If the design is the problem, why use this design? I feel pretty let down by this. -
2004 Polo 1.4 brake deglazing ? 19 Feb 2006 (Forum)
The frequent soft braking style will be used by anyone driving in London. Because the brakes don't come under the warranty I have to pay for deglazing or try hosing the brakes down along with a series of hard braking manouevres, neither of which option will permanently cure the problem. -
Hyundai i20 - i20 Clutch Fail! 8 Sep 2015 (Forum)
The dealer now wants me to authorise £450 odd worth of work to take the gearbox and clutch out and replace if necessary. Same old story, I've driven cars for 10 years, with many more miles on the clock than this, without any clutch issues. I don't ride the clutch and I always use the handbreak (i.e. I don't hold the car on the clutch on hills/at junctions). -

Mazda CX-5 - Mazda diesel contamination 14 Mar 2024 (Forum)
We deliberately picked a car with full service history and low reativly mileage (50,000) as we assumed it would last us a few years, not 10 months we also paid for the warranty for some extra peace of mind. Not sure where to go from here as I want to take this further.
