Too old at 6 years surely being electric the vehicle should last longer than a diesel or petrol car. Our last car was a diesel and we had this for 14 years and did over 150,000 miles in it and the engine was still fine when we got rid of it. -

As part of a “Climate Plan” the French government has launched a scrappage scheme for older vehicles to encourage motorists to trade up to newer cleaner replacements. Your old car or van must have been registered before 1997 for petrol vehicles, and before 2001 for diesel vehicles … so probably not taking too many BR readers' cars off the road The vehicle you trade in must be registered in France, and have been owned by you for at least one year. -

Is the old adage about German diesel's true? That assuming the FSH is genuine these engines are more than capable of running up huge miles without any problems. Would you be concerned that the car's been doing +30k miles a year? -

I took the radio out of the old car and reached round the back of the instrument display and removed the bulb for the warning light, I then did the same to the new car only to find that the new instrument display does not have removable bulbs at the back! -

My dad had a 1987 one and in many ways it was a good car, paid £850 for it at four years old, and it lasted another 6. In a world when every new car including Kias is perfect, it is refreshing to know that there is still some truly awful cars being made outside of America! -

Also I have noticed since we have come back to the south how car parks have shrunk at beauty spots. The car park at Chesil Beach was huge, and when we were kids we stopped there one night in a camper, now it is a tiny car park with pay and display meters, and is the same almost every where. -

Been watching a detective series on TV about Sicily in the 80's called Maltese the Mafia detective. It's a car spotters's dream if you like old Alfas and Fiats etc. even a Renault 4, used to like them for some strange reason. -

My old v70 is in for repair after a lorry decided to redesign it and I have been given this XC90 2019 as a courtesy car. I've found the turn off stop start function but it doesn't seem to work....any ideas? -

Vauxhall Vectra Diesel - Clutch and slave 19 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Clutch has packed up and garage recommends I change the whole thing flywheell, clutch and slave which makes sense given the car is old and the job is big. Any opinions? Thanks -

If cars need a test at three years old, and every year thereafter, why do drivers, including and particularly PSV/LGV, get to go for ever (unless they have a major driving conviction/medical condition) without a re-test? -

Audi recommends changing the belt at 80,000 miles. My car has 60,000 miles and is 4 years old - is there any history of premature cam belt failure on this model? Should I change the belt now?
