  I have a 2002 manual ford focus 1.6L. Recently noticed a hissing noise coming under the front drivers side wheel arch after driving the car, which stops about 15 seconds after parking the car. Sounds like its coming from the wheel/brake on that side. Tyre pressures are fine and no obvious problems on tyre so don't think its air leaking from there, but the noise is just like the noise of a puncture.

  My wife's had two new front tyres fitted to get it through the MOT. I've driven it since and it just feels strange. Nothing in partic; steering doesn't return to the centre for example, when you go around a bend or turn at a junction.

  Big trouble with car,bought it a few months ago,had to fit new struts and springs ,then onto front brakes,binding bad on front left,so decided to fit new calipers and discs, and pads on both sides,but now brakes are binding badly,it is vented discs on it,but for some strange reason,cant fit the long pins which calipers slide on,can only fit short ones,and every body says short ones are for solid discs,help driving me nuts,even fitted new caliper carriers but still the same.

  i have a bmw compact, 1996, SE spec. i want to lower the car, it has 17\" alloys on with 215/40/17 Avons. i have seen various suspension kits, from the likes of H&R, Eibach, Avo, Cobra, Apex and PI. The question is many suspension companies offer springs which lower the car more at the front than at the back - for example Cobra offer a sring kit which lowers the front by 50mm and the back by 30mm, i was speaking to a freind and he said this would mess the whole ride up completley, is it better to get a srpring kit which lowers evenly all round or does it not make much difference.

  Later I found out that the noise which is heard somewhere under the dashboard/floor or engine compartment in the right side can also be heard if I run with the left front wheel or the rear wheels through road bumps, and it is heard in the same place (front right). The sound is there from 2800 km, now the car is 10000km. I assume this means that it is not from the front right suspension?

  Just had an MoT failure on a 1993 Mk3 Astra (worn rear bush on front lower suspension arm/wishbone). Got a replacement wishbone off ebay, miraculously, for £9.99 complete with both front and rear bushes, and lower ball-joint already fitted!! Unfortunately I can't get the front pivot bolt out.

  half of egr valve is stuck in the manifold. have tried to remove it but it is fairly stuck, have sprayed with wd 40...would heating the manifold with a gas torch  help...or could it be blanked off with a blanking plate and the solenoid part plugged in.......HELP////

  I am trying to locate the pollen filter for our 1994 BMW 525i. This is the 1st BMW we have owner and it is German spec. The air flow for both heat and A/C is really bad. I was told it is the pollen filter. Anyone know where to find it?
