  Simpsons of Colne discovered that number 3 plug lead was burned out. Diagnosed cause to be use of supermarket (Morrisons) fuel. Therefore not covered by warranty. Cost me £183 for new lead and 4 new plugs. I was shewn neither lead nor plugs and on enquiry was told that they had "gone". Did a check on BRISKODA.net and discovered 2 others with similar problem.

  Afternoon all - last week i picked up a tanker driver from the grangemouth refinary where he collects fuel for shell and formally BP. I thought he would be the perfect man to talk to about different fuels and indeed he was!   There is a Shell garage on the A43 just south of Kettering which for ages has priced its fuel around 10p per litre above that of the local supermarkets.  Today I bought E10 there at 155.9 per litre, having seen a price of 166.9 at Morrisons and Asda, which were usually the cheapest.   I did so, but checked what the garage down the road was charging, 102.9p ? hence I saved 1p per litre. At the end of the promotion the supermarket fuel cost fell to 101.9p, and the place down the road remained 102.9p - I still saved 1p per litre. So, during the period of the promotion the loyal customers (spending £50.00 or more) saved 1p a litre on their fuel, and when the promotion was no more, still saved 1p per litre.
