Honda Accord 1.8 - Honda Accord Cutting out 17 Mar 2012 (Forum)
I expect that this can be solved my replaceing the HT leads. Pretty simple. However while going round a sharp RHT the engine died, no error lights, and started up easily straight away. It has since done this 2 more times. Could these be related (havent changed HT leads yet) or am i looking at something like fuel pump/filter or a loose connection? -
Audi A3 Sportback (2004 - ) - Lead time schedules for Company Cars 2 Sep 2007 (Forum)
BMW and Lexus all seem to be managing ok with lead times of around 10-12 weeks - I don't understand why it's so difficult to get my mitts on an Audi! Opinions welcome :-) -
European referendum result 16 Jun 2016 (Forum)
So why pray is the media getting all excited by shifts of so called "polled public opinion" ( "Brexit in the lead/Remain in the lead?) when it is clearly pure conjecture? -
All - Green number plates 24 Oct 2019 (Forum)
It is reported today that the powers to be are considering Green number plates for electric vehicles. This in turn may lead to such vehicles having favourable conditions on the road such as driving in bus lanes and lower parking charges. Such a policy if proceeded with will discriminate the vast majority who drive conventional vehicles and could possibly lead to even more road rage. -
Would you buy a Foxtons Mini?? 24 May 2006 (Forum)
I'm reliably informed that the 26 British Racing Green Minis for sale at BCA Nottingham tomorrow are all from the Foxtons Estate Agents fleet. I have always been lead to believe that these cars lead a hard life, as well as having decals plastered over them from new. Would anyone see one of these as a good buy? -
Corsa temperature sender probs 29 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Corsa 1.4L 1996 87K Hi all, I noticed the temp. gauge not working. I earthed the lead off to the body with ignition on & the gauge moved to hot. Today I replaced the temp. sender & put a new contact on the end of lead. Took it for a good 20min run tonight but it still doesn't show any temp. -
A Big Hurrah for the Backroom 3 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Top of the list was tracking on the plugs of cylinders 3 and 4. Lo, what do i find when i look at them, nasty black marks, iffy looking HT leads. Anyway, new plugs and a set of leads and problem appears to be solved. But.......If this is a common problem, what is the cause behind it? It may be straightforward to fix, but the idea of throwing plugs and leads at the car on a regular basis is unappealing. -

Nissan Primera P10 bulb replacement 24 Mar 2005 (Forum)
I am replacing a headlamp bulb on my 96 Primera. Mr Hayne's manual advises me to disconnect the negative battery lead before proceeding. Two questions. One What am I risking if I don't disconnect the battery lead? Two. Will I need to input the radio security code if I do disconnect. The code may be hard/impossible to find. -
Motorway slip road 18 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Ever since the M56 was opened, I've wondered about this particular feature. Between the A556 and the M6 junctions, on the westbound track there is a small ' slip road ' leading up off the hard shoulder to a wooden ' farm ' type gate. There is also a slip on from this gate. In all my hundreds of trips up and down this stretch, I've never seen this gate open or in use. The gate leads into a very minor lane, not important enough to have a bridge or a tunnel across the M way. -
BMW E21 - distributor and poor running 30 Jun 2007 (Forum)
do you think it?s possible that this closeness (probably only 5mm) between the metal surround of the cap and the leads is leading to the bad running? Any thoughts at all would be really appreciated ? I?m deeply confused? Many thanks! James {Subject header amended to include car details - DD} -
Suzuki T250 motorbike - Suzuki motorbike coil to HT cable connection 5 Sep 2021 (Forum)
I posted this in the bikers section, but there does not seem to be much trafiic there, so thought I would try here too. Please does anyone know whether the HT leads can be simply unscrewed from the coils on this bike. The old ones have been cut off halfway to the plug cap, so an extension will be needed if the original leads cannot be disconnected from the coils. -

You, experiences, leading or trailing edge? Cars 14 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Are you `leading or trailing edge` re cars and in general, why? In other words, do you buy the new models straight off the production line or wait and buy later? What life experiences shaped your stance on this? -
bmw 120d - BMW 120d '04 shorted out? 27 Mar 2012 (Forum)
In a nutshell, while in the process of jump starting my 330i, I inadvertently touched the jump leads together while the leads were connected to my wifes 120d. It was connected in the boot direct to the battery. The car cut out and now wont start, it just cranks over and some warning lights have appeared on the dash. -
Vauxhall Vectra C - fuel return pipe? 22 Mar 2011 (Forum)
hi, i have a vectra 2.2 sri direct. could anyone tell me if the pipe that leads from the fuel pressure regulator to the cam driven high powered pump is in fact the return pipe, as described in the haynes manual, or is it the feed to the pump? the only other pipe from the pump is a metal one which leads into the injector rail, so by deduction the so called 'return pipe' must be the fuel line into the pump surely? -

Jump start box 19 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Maplin currently have an 'Emergency Jumpstart and 12V Power Supply' unit (essentially a 12V 17Ah battery in a box) for £20, and since it also contains a compressor, thus removing the annoying part where you have to trail the lead around the car from the lighter socket, I wondered if it was worth having. The battery alone is probably worth the price, but a lot depends on the implementation - are the leads long/thick enough, does the compressor shift any air, etc?
