Trigger Point TV programme 3 Feb 2022 (Forum)
An Eastern European camera popular in the film era as a cheap entry into the hobby. Never a professional’s piece of kit and a complete antique in these digital days. Still it didn’t matter much as it looked like the cameraman was attempting to take close up images with a long telephoto lens. -
Jaguar XF Sportbrake - How many chances to fix a minor fault 8 Feb 2018 (Forum)
Had a minor fault with my 2015 XF for just over a year now, its an intermittant fault with the rear view camera either going blank or the guide lines not coming up onscreen. always clears after turning the car off and on again - no fault codes show up and Jaguar didnt believe there was a problem until I was able to film the issue occuring several times However Jaguar have now been trying to fix the issue for over a year, has been into the main dealers 9 times and had the camera unit replaced twice but the fault keeps coming back. -

Road Wars - police tape speedo accurate? 29 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Just been watching Road Wars on Sky 3 (dated 2005), and amongst the usual chases there was what appeared to be motorway footage taken by an in-car police camera with the speed displayed as up to 125-130mph. However, if the police car was doing 130, then all the other vehicles on the motorway must have been doing well over 100, and presumably indicating more on their un-calibrated speedos. -

SUV's Glug Glug 30 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Moral is, follow the tide down, as we beachfisher chaps say, and don't forget your tide tables or check the local paper. Also any A55 drivers should be aware of road works along the route. There is a speed camera in the road works at St Asaph. There have also been Gatso flashes in the road works at Penmaenmawr. I am told this is because, instead of a constant 50 limit through the works, it drops to 40 for a short stretch and guess where the camera is? -
Self-Incrimination & Human Rights Act 22 Sep 2001 (Forum)
This was received today via the Magistrates Association chatroom: There is currently a legal concern that demanding a driver say whether or not they were driving at the time of a speed camera offence, may be contrary to the right not to incriminate themselves pursuant to Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights. Five judges have overruled the European Convention on Human Rights and said that police can ask drivers to incriminate themselves after having been photographed by a speed cameras. -

driving assessment 17 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Having watched one of those "police, camera, mayhem" type shows on television, for various reasons I thought I would get a professional assessment of my driving ability. Having searched for driving schools in my area, I saw one offering "crash courses". -
Traffic Light which manages cars' speed 3 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Here's a useful idea. Throw away all the speed cameras (and lose all the income) and put in speed controlled traffic lights in accident areas of towns. http://www.charentelibre.com/extranet_en/index.php?action=current&id_edition=147&pos=6 -

Yesterday I saw 2 devices on tripods on a bridge just a few miles after the Severn Crossing on the Welsh side. I only got a brief look at them, but they didn't look like speed cameras from what I could see. ANPR devices perhaps ?? -
Save 100 lives the easy way 14 Dec 2006 (Forum)
Proposals to change the time are estimated to save approx 100 lives a year http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/230/230583_move_to_eurotime_would_save_lives.html It looks like it may save more lives than all the camera partnerships put together, but doesn't generate any fines -
