Ford Ranger - Pickup truck hit my car 21 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Pickup truck was in fourth lane and hit my car while taking exit from fourth lane to first. He was driving at 75-80mph and I couldn’t prove that he was driving fast. Highway authorities couldn’t provide the video clip of the incident eventhough I gave the exact time & place. They had cameras around that place. -
MINI One - Problems with cooling system 5 Feb 2016 (Forum)
The temperature gauge has been going all over the place, the fan is on pretty much the whole time I'm driving and stays on for about 2minutes after I turn off the engine, despite not being that hot. The water also seems to be disappearing, I top it up everytime I drive and after driving, the water cap is up, often has steam coming out and there's considerably less water in there. -
Crackdown on driving whilst holding your mobile 25 Dec 2015 (Forum)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35141387 What frustrates me about all this, is the number of women (almost always aged say 25 - 40, attractive, well groomed in the modern, full make up and jeans 'pornstar' look), driving expensive cars who I see on my daily drives as the main culprits. The point of course is that all these cars have Bluetooth as standard. My wife, who is not the most techno savvy person, is fully able to understand and implement the process needed to sych her new iPhone to the Nissan system in her Juke without requiring the assistance of husband or either of two teenager sons. -

£3000 auto car needed recommendations please 23 Apr 2013 (Forum)
Hi I have managed to save £3000 for a car, i cant afford anymore, it needs to be automatic, reliable, cheap to repair, tax, insure Economic Under 1.6 preferably Main use is school run, shopping, afterschool activities I hardly ever drive on motorways I do not drive fast I have one child who is 7, we often have his cousins, so preferably 5 seats- our last car only had 4 seats so was not good for us (Suzuki wagon) I liked the high driving seat of the Suzuki wagon, I also used to have an old scenic, I like a bit of space and good views to drive. -
Ford Fiesta diesel or petrol - Second hand car for daughter learning to drive. 22 Jan 2013 (Forum)
She is mad keen to pass her test. She is happy to meet certain costs to get a slightly better car. Her driving will mainly be in and around town...longest journey 15 miles...and little motorway driving. Looking at running costs it does seem to me that a diesel will be cheaper tjhan a petrol.......lower road tax, lower insurance, better mileage per gallon but obviously more expensive per gallon etc. -
All diesels - Which driving style produces the least diesel soot 24 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I have heard four theories: 1.Soot is mainly generated when a car is being driven hard which is why drivers accelerating hard from roundabouts get the characteristic black smoke but not at steady speed. 2. A hard driven diesel burns the soot that both hard & soft driving generate but which only hard driving will burn up leaving it to cause damage in a gently driven car. 3. It is about turbo boost. An small engine with lots of boost produces more soot than a bigger less boosted engine producing the same power. -
Points on your license 29 Jul 2011 (Forum)
I'm with the charity man quoted in the article; let's stick to 12 for everybody. If you have to go to court and claim 'hardship' for being unable to drive then you should have thought about it before driving like a knob. I'm thinking about in towns really here; speeding on the motorway doesn't bother me as long as they don't drive up the backs of other cars. -

Do we need more 4x4 commercial vehicles? 15 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Would it be a sensible idea for companies who operate fleets vans and light trucks to include a few with 4-wheel drive. Vans seem to have been having particular trouble in these slippery conditions - whether they be rear-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. 4-wheel-drive versions of some vans are available - e.g. -
Driving after major surgery with confusion issues 11 Jun 2009 (Forum)
My dad came home today having just had a heart bypass and valve replacement. He cant drive for 8 weeks anyway but he is also suffering from confusion and short-term memory loss ( known as POCD apparently covering a wode range of odd behavior post OP ). Has anyone here had this problem as we are not sure if my dad is fully aware how away with the fairies he sometimes is and Im wondering if he will be able to make the right judgement on when he is ready to drive again. -
KIA Rio (2005 - ) - Rio 1.5l diesel realistic mpg figures 10 Apr 2009 (Forum)
I don't think the official figures are realistic at all but I should have more varied figures between spirited driving and driving like a saint. -
PCV licence requirements 16 Dec 2008 (Forum)
My employer gave me an old 12-seat minibus to use today as a van. Something niggled, so I checked the DVLA site to see if I was legal. 'If you had entitlement to drive cars prior to 1 January 1997 you can drive a minibus provided you are 21 or over and the minibus has a maximum of 17 seats including the driver's seat and is not being used for hire or reward. To drive a minibus which has nine or more passenger seats for hire or reward you will normally need passenger carrying vehicle entitlement (PCV).' -
Audi A4 (1995 - 2000) - 98 2.5 white smoke while driving fine on start-up 20 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Hi All, Hope you can give some advise on my recent purchase (Monday). Audi A4 2.5 Tdi that is pumping out white smoke while driving, nothing on start up (and no problems starting), some smoke idling and normal driving, but excessive smoke if you floor it, only noticed it after a run up to 80mph filtering onto an A road and then stopping at a set of lights after a mile or so (lots of white smoke!). -
An outdated stereotype 5 Jul 2008 (Forum)
The line up includes ancient rockers like Status Quo, Deep Purple, Chicago, Meat Loaf - who'll no doubt bang out tracks from those rubbish 'driving anthems' CDs. When will this depressing 'motorists music' stereotype die? Who actually drives around listening to 70s driving rock anthems? I'm 37 and spent my early teens listening to New Order and the great Manchester bands, then moved onto house and dance music before ending up appreciating soul and r'n'b. -
Dangerous driving - in reverse ? 27 Jun 2008 (Forum)

Family Saloons 12 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I find the Renault I have to be very smooth and comfortable to drive , and that was my concern with the Hyundai - would I find it as easygoing to drive and comfortable to be in. Would the Mazda 3 saloon provide the same level of comfort? A general comparison would be valuable between the Renault Megane Sports Saloon from 2006, and the Mazda 3 saloon., also post facelift.
