second hand 4X4/ Van recomendations - Rosie Gardener

Any advice appreciated as i'm not sure where to start - I'm looking at buying a fairly cheap 4X4 or van

Looking to spend about £3 -£4k with a not ridiculously high insurance group

My work involves driving up farm tracks full of potholes/ craters on a daily basis, i'd also like to be able to drive the vehicle onto a pretty soggy field from time to time so something that is reasonable offroad but most importantly has plenty of clearance

Doesn't need to be huge or have lots of space for passangers but would need a decent amount of boot space.

Reasonable mpg would be nice but not essential as we'll keep my current car for long journeys/ town driving

Any recomendations for 4X4 or small vans that won't get too trashed driving up and down farm tracks every day?

thanks!

Forester, plenty around that have already been converted to LPG, that would be a useful fuel cost saving...get a good one and you might find you don't want to use anything else.

If you need higher ground clearance or a more substantial vehicle then maybe a Landcruiser Colorado, 94 to 04 ish, much heavier on fuel but a very tough durable vehicle.
