Small cheap hatchback for around £2000 - what's around?

What are the options for a small cheap reliable five-door hatchback for under 2k?

Depending on what happens at MOT time I'll be looking at replacing our L-reg Honda civic 1.6 V-Tec soon. It's a shame as its been really reliable was great to drive and only cost us £500 but alas rust is finally taking its toll. Also what do you think the most amount of money I should be looking to spend on fixing it before i get rid of it?

Engine size is not an issue nor is petrol or diesel. but the car does need to be a smaller hatchback like a fiesta to fit on our drive

Don't spend any more on the rusting Honda. Impossible to advise specifically in this price bracket because something with a good reputation could be overpriced rubbish and vice versa. All you can do is go for a car you genuinely and instinctively feel good about. Don't argue yourself into anything.
