Climate - factory defaulting at random 15 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Hi, the CC on my Mazda 6 will at random default to its factory settings when the car is started. The dealer has changed the CC module but they are now a little puzzled as its happened again. Has anyone had this on a Mazda or maybe another brand of car? The car is less than a year old. -

Most rust prone cars? 29 Sep 2001 (Forum)
Can I just ask everybody what their nominations would be for cars they have owned in the past that seemed to attract rust? Mine would be by far and away my old Austin Maestro (don't laugh), which went from looking respectable to garden shed like in the space of a year. -

Avensis 2002 2.0i vvti - Head Gasket Failure 15 Apr 2011 (Forum)
BUT - is this likely to happen to the car again if the job is done properly ?? ie. is it a design fault The car has an excellent service history - I have all the invoices/stamps old MOTs etc in the book and the car is in otherwise immaculate and excellent condition given the mileage - I don't believe its been clocked. -

Because of the costs involved in repairing a modern car outside of warranty, are my friends right in getting rid of their astra diesel? Gearbox failure, needs clutch, exhaust dpf and a major service required plus brakes and tyres. Car is 5 years old due mot, they can get a good deal on a nearly new car . -
£5000 What Car 12 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Have got a vectra at the moment and myself and hubby cannot agree on a car has anyone any suggestions. I want smaller car but big enough to fit buggy in boot, 1.4 engine and is going to last us at least 5 years. The last car was 4 years old and has cost us a small fortune on garage bills, which we don't want to happen again. -
is this normal practice? 3 Apr 2011 (Forum)
I am not sure who would put a deposit down on a 3 year old car they have never seen. I raised this concern with him and he said “we only sell good cars” and they could fix any bodywork we were not happy with. The funny thing is he spent 30 mins checking my car (also 3 years old) like a man possessed, he did not see the irony when I asked for for a £500 deposit. -

New car quest 25 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Namely the Focus TDDI H/B (90bhp) which i presume is the old burner out of the Escort. Im just wondering how much better the new Common rail TDCI engine is. Ive only found one thread about the old 1.8 burner so far. Also, went to MH 2000 and found a number of specced up 1.8 TDDI Zetecs with more extras than a Ghia, but found out they were sourced from Cyprus with only a 1 year "in-house" warrenty, checked with Ford UK who said definatly not honour any warrenty on these cars as they are from outside Europe, and that includes the 12 year anti-perforation warrenty, so MH 2000 are selling new cars basically wthout any useful warrenty except for the "in-house" one. -

Fiat Panda - Parking with the front wheels straight - or not? 3 Jan 2014 (Forum)
Hi all I tend to park the Panda and the other car, an old Honda Shuttle, by reversing into a car park space and by the time the car is straight, the wheels tend to be at an angle. I wonder, does leaving a car like this all day/night put any strain on driveshafts, rubber boots, grommets, suspension parts, etc. ?? -

A car for me mum... 4 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Mum wants to change her car. Spending £6-7k. Wants a reliable, mid-size 5 door hatch. I've said Focus (of which i have heard great things), but Astras seem to be much, much cheaper - basically for the same money you get a 1 year old car instead of 2 years - worth it? -

I have just been given a 1996 Toyota Carina E 1.8 CD 77,000 from my grandfather for free. Audi A7 Sportback - Petrol cap 16 Mar 2023 (Forum)
I’ve had that one for a year and I’ve also got a new Q7 which is about 8 months old. I’ll try to find a link to the exact A7 if it helps but have others had this issue regularly? I’m wondering how long the fix will last or when it will come up on the other car.
