some lowlife put a brick through the sunroof of my mondeo. i have comp insurance with norwich union. have rang the customer centre twice. twice because they are based in india the the first person was unsure. the second person says the sunroof is not covered under windscreen cover. it will be treated as a seperate claim whose excess is £175. are they correct? on my policy document it says windscreen/window/sunroof is covered and will not affect the no claims bonus.

  • direct/indirect diesel injection 31 Mar 2001 (Forum)
My current Polo is indirect injected and uses glow plugs to start. I know the fundamentals of indirect injection, but how does a direct injected car start like a petrol, i.e straight away without waiting for the fuel to be pre-heated ? Does the direct injection use glow plugs, and if not is the fuel heated up by the action of the piston moving up the cylinder and compressing the mixture ?

The power light does come on when you press the button but i checked at the rear screen and there is not a feed. The fuses are ok. Does this sound like a relay. Would i still get the light on the switch if relay was faulty.
  • Antifreeze/Herald heating 12 Feb 2004 (Forum)
Don't winemakers add it to boost the alcohol levels? PS Anyone know how the heater valve attaches to the heat exchanger on a 1969 Triumph Herald? The heater is made by Smiths. It looks like they just push together with lots of goo. Can this be correct?

  • Price of diesel 16 Nov 2001 (Forum)

  • Suzuki Baleno - Problems with new (used) car 29 Jan 2020 (Forum)
I sent them an email (copied to the dealer) outlining the issues.   This afternoon I took the car to a very well-regarded insurance approved bodyshop.  The chap there was of the opinion that this probably wasn’t a stone chip but rather damage caused in changing the windscreen.  He felt that the corrosion started under the windscreen surround and had spread up.

  • Vauxhal Zafira 1.6 Club Petrol - Heater Problems 25 Nov 2010 (Forum)
My heater does not seem to give out much heat, I have checked out the LED reading as the car does not have any temperature gauge fitted, by pressing the settings button waiting for the bleep then pressing the BC button and scrolling through until I come to an LED readout which gives a temperature reading, that I assume is the water temperature, the car never goes above 30 to 45 degrees, (this is only after a 35 min motorwary drive) if this is the water it seems low to me hence no great heat, the blower is working fine, so what could be the problem?
  • mondeo mk3 2001 ghia 30 Dec 2006 (Forum)
Hi just found this site and seems like a great place to post my question. Great if anybody can help thanks.. My problems is with the heating/climate control. on pushing the control buttons to turn on the heater either manual or the auto button the aircon clutch kicks in and a few seconds later the cars main cooling fan starts up ( i been informed this is ment to happen if the aircon button is pressed) and cooles the car before it ever has a chance to warm up so drive around for miles with little or no real heat.
