Extended warranty won't pay for heater failure - what can I do?

Six months ago I bought my old company car from the leasing firm - a Volkswagen Passat. The car is four years old and was sold with a two year extended warranty. Last week I took it for a service, but the dealer noted that the heater was not working. I've been told this will cost £250 to fix.

I’ve contacted the warranty company and they have refused to pay for the repairs, saying the heat resister that has failed. I am somewhat confused as the warranty document says it covers heater fan motor and failure of relays and switches. Is the warranty firm trying to dodge its responsibilities?

Yes, the warranty should cover this. If it doesn't, sue the dealer who sold you the warranty for the cost of the repair.
