No heating Pug 306 1.9 TD 16 Feb 2006 (Forum)
I have a T reg 306 diesel and it is blowing cold air. I have changed the thermostat and also checked coolant levels which are fine. There is heat in the piping and having checked the air bleeding valve there is hot water which means the heater matrix is working and i can't think what else it could be. Any ideas would be most welcome as it is quite cold outside!! -
Jag xjs cooling fan 5 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Temp gauge is ok and reads just below the N mark, and there's no water anywhere. Could it simply be low in coolant, or could there be a more sinister reason? -- Jaguar XJS V12 - comes with free personalised oil tanker. -
Fiesta Water Leak 24 Mar 2005 (Forum)
when I park my ford fiesta (mk3 1.6 h reg) overnight in my garage in the morning a find a small puddle of water underneath the car and am finding trouble locating where it is coming from. The puddle is under the timing belt casing area of the car but there are no hose leaks and coolant loss seems nil or at least minimal. Any ideas of where this is coming from much appriciated. Steveo -

Megane heater matrix 18 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Looks like my heater matrix has sprung a leak since I've changed the coolant, maybe my efforts to purge an airlock damaged it, or the crud inside it has unblocked a leak. Looking at the Haynes manual I am cross-referenced to virtually every chapter where it seems I have to take the whole insides of the car apart to get the thing out. -
306 fluid change - worth the bother? 7 May 2004 (Forum)
I need to change the oil, coolant and brake fluid in my 150k 306 diesel which I bought six months ago. After I've bought all the fluids and spent hours reading my haynes manual to find bleed valves and things, is it worth it? How big a job is it and how much time/labour would it take a garage to do it? -
Repair -How much would you expect to pay 24 Oct 2003 (Forum)
It\'s gone to the mechanics with starting problems. They have diagnosed problems with the inlet manifold gasket (which was letting in coolant as well as air), coil and HT leads. My question is how much would you say is a fair price for these repairs. My mechanics have quoted £225 - is that a fair figure? -
Overseas dealers 21 May 2003 (Forum)
With reference to my post about my coolant pipe Aprilia said about trying to source it from overseas as I may be able to source it fairly quickly. Does anyone know any Mercedes dealers in mainland europe that speak english or spanish. I am fairly fluent in spanish and can just about manage english. -
De-icing techniques. 1 Mar 2003 (Forum)
I assume that the tiny amount of heat from the heater will be more useful than the advantage of having the heater matrix off to ecourage the coolant to heat quicker. What does eveeryone else do? Heatter on or off? -- These are my own opinions, and not necessarily those of all Toads. -
Anti-freeze 31 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Just tried to scape the ice off my car windscreen.......hopeless then got my old halfords spray that your just spray on it "melts" the ice away, brilliant but its run out. Me being tight was wondering if just some anti freeze (coolant) with water would have the same affect., and put that in the spray dispenser. Don't want to mess about will boiling hot water from a kettle either before someone suggests it. -
Rubber hoses: checking tips 11 Oct 2002 (Forum)
* Hose condition -- rubber hoses soften with age. Should the hoses be firm to the touch. * Leaks -- coolant hoses etc. will show leaks. But what about air pipes? Someone suggested listening with a plastic tube. * Any other tips? Mike -
Audi 80 leaks 21 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Despite having been checked over by my local Audi dealership (who are pretty much useless) I have a recurring problem with the interior misting up. I have kept an eye on the coolant level and have ruled out the possibility of a matrix leak. Anyone got any ideas or know of a specialist who can check this out? Thanks Equilibrium -
Citroen ZX 1.9D - Citroen ZX engine overheating problem 22 Jan 2011 (Forum)
From looking online it sounded like it could be the thermostat, which we removed and tested and sure enough had failed. We replaced it with a new one, bled the coolant system as per the Haynes manual, using a header tank to refill with new coolant until there were no bubbles coming out of any of the bleed valves. Then ran the car at a fast idle until the fan kicked in (a few small bubbles appeared in the header tank). -
Golf Mk2 GTI - Forcibly expelled coolant 24 Jul 2004 (Forum)
The head gasket has been mentioned, but I've heard that there are usually tell-tale signs in terms of the water becoming contaminated etc., whereas the water ejected from the expansion bottle was clear water (I didn't have any coolant at the time). steve-o suggested that it could be an airlock, which makes some sense. As mentioned before, it really only seems to happen when the engine is stopped (or the car is stationary for a while). -

Ford Fiesta - Ecboost water reservoir bubbling 29 Aug 2017 (Forum)
I recently purchased a new fiesta (not very latest new model ) with an ecoboost petrol 1.0 100 engine. After returning from a drive in town today I lifted the bonnet and saw that the water in the coolant reservoir was bubbling and the fan was running. After a minute or so the fan stopped and also the bubbling stopped. Is this normal in a turbo engine. I have never had one before. -

VW Golf Mk4 - Temperature Gauge Failure 18 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Last night the temperature gauge on my nine year old Golf failed to register. There was no problem with the coolant level. On the return journey there was the same problem but after about 10 miles the gauge suddenly registered correctly. There is no point in taking the car to a garage with a non existant problem but I wonder what could have happened and am I likely to break down without warning? -
Citroen Xsara - overheating 17 Oct 2013 (Forum)

VWPassat 130 Tdi AWX - Misfire on pullig away 25 Aug 2011 (Forum)
I have been advised it could be due to the boost solenoid..My main query is, where is this solenoid situated? Is it easy to change? I have changed the injector loom. and also the coolant sensor. This was not a genuine VW part, Could it be down to this being wrong? Any advice appeciated! Dusty...
