  Hi folks, I have a car on a two year lease and intend to return it at the end of that lease (6 months time). The car really is in A1 condition as you would expect for 18m old, I washed and waxed it the other week and it was like it had just come out of the showroom, not a mark on the alloys, all serviced as should be etc.. only problem is a stone chip in the windscreen.

  Hello all, looking for some help please I recently brought a used 2014 Mk 7, VW Golf SE and it's been a great car until some slightly colder weather and mornings arrived I am having problems with the windscreen badly fogging up. A few mornings where its been roughly 8 degrees or less I get this patchy fog covering the entire windscreen which cannot be cleared by the wipers and is not on the inside of the glass either.

  Right folks, need the collective forum brain on this one! Bought a car 2 weeks ago, and someone in their wisdom decided to apply either intentionally or not, wax or polish to the windscreen! (before my purchase) - looks maybe like an accidental runoff ? Anyway, every time the wipers wipe I see a "scum" on the windscreen, but after the wipe the screen is clear. my problem is that whenever the wipers are on constantly this "scum" is there, and it would worry me if it was raining at night and my vision would be affected.

  Got in my car tonight and noticed that someone had scratched a 6 inch mark, in a slight curve or arch, on my windscreen in my line of sight - there are 2 or 3 lighter lines below the main one also. Checked outside and it is a definite mark as I can feel the raised line but it is hairline thick.

  Hi Every now and then my Dad has a problem with his Vauxhall Carlton - so Im back to post another query! He has a heated rear window that only heats on the centre line(?) A new window is £300. Can anyone suggest a company that can repair this cheaper than this? (in the North London are - Harrow) Thanks Wendy

  I removed the aircon drain hose to check and see that the unit was draining successfully - it seems OK. I have checked the air intake in front of the windscreen - all the covers and seals appear to be in place. Please does anyone have any ideas on how to fix my mobile aquarium??? John

  Could do with some suggestions please: my Civic windscreen smears every time the wipers pass, despite brand new wipers on a screen I've tried everything on to shift it. It's a serious hazard at night. I've tried alcohol (pure 96), glass cleaner, vinegar and rolled up newspaper, autoglym glass cleaner, all to no avail and I'm running out of ideas.

  The thread on wipers reminded me that my windscreen (oruginal i30 screen, 9 years old, 60 K miles, mosty under motorway speeds, shows hundreds of tiny pits when the low sun shines through it. Puzzled how its picked up so many pinprick pits, (no chips or cracks), I asked my mate who runs a body shop about replacing it, but his advice was to leave it as is because in his experience not all screen replacements are done with enough care and can lead to problems.

  I thought my washers had frozen so cleaned them with a pin. I then tried the washers and no jet onto the windscreen...checked the fluid and it was OK- not frozen. The fluid was coming out of the jet at a good rate but wasnt jetting onto the screen. When I looked again I couldnt see a  fine nozzle for the jet as you normally see.

  I have refilled the windscreen Wash reservoir of my Peugeot 406 and seem to have a problem with the mechanism.   Hello, An annoying rattle, at 1000 to 1300rpm, from the underneath of the car prompted a visit to the place where I had a replacement exhaust fitted a year ago. (Non-franchise, small group, tyre & exhaust, MOT and service outfit: DEXEL, recommended). They popped it on the lift and a few minutes later told me the rattle was the heat shield tapping on the body.
