  Dear All, A Volvo V40 with heated seats. Driver's side works fine. Passengers seat appears to not heat at all. The light on the switch illuminates, and the connections under the seat appear sound and secure. Do elements burn out? Any other suggestions.....

  Hi I have had my car now nearly six months and I have it running perfectly apart from one thing. When I try the heating system my windows steam up. The only way I can clear it is by using the Air Con and that makes my car freezing.

  Hi all, Earlier in the year I posted about some joy riders trying to take my corsa so on the advice of the forum I bought and stuck on a disklok but my luck seems to be out as the car has been shunted while parked on the road in front of the house and the bumper is cracked open and this happened over the last bank holiday W-end that I was away. I came back to find the damage and a note on the windscreen, a scribbled name and a mobile no. and my fears were realised as the no. does not work and I am on TPFT :-/ I can only guess that it happened during the day and he tried to appear honest to any onlookers, but as I intend to scrap the car at the end of the year I am not so angry but this is the 2nd time it has been hit while parked outside my house in 4 yrs and it is a quiet residential road.

  I have a water leak in my astra. Everytime it rains the foot wells of my car both sides are saturated. There is no water on the seats so we've ruled out it being the sun roof. We recently had a new windscreen but can't see any leaks through there. It seems to be coming from between the bonnet and windscreen but i cannot see any obvious place.

  Been lurking for a while and I'm wondering if anyone can help. I have a 2011 Fabia Monte Carlo and I have an annoying problem. In the winter months the windscreen mists up very quickly to the point that I can't see out. If I turn the A/C on or open the windows it goes away quickly but in my mind I shouldnt have to. It happens to a lesser extent over the summer too.

  Thread title says it all really! My wife's picasso (X reg diesel) has developed a bizarre fault, in that the windscreen wipers are on the whole time. They can only be disabled by removing the fuse. My local garage has admitted defeat in trying to identify the problem. They suspect that the answer may involve the replacement of an expensive black box of some type.

  I have received a stone chip on my windscreen (bottom right hand corner on the very edge. It is a standard chip size 2mm diameter (oval/circular shape). It is not very deep (you can feel it with your fingernail) and there is no spiders web sort of effect).

  Hi Recently changed the heater matrix on my Passat 1.9 TDI , but i still dont seem to be getting any heat through the matrix !. I have flushed the cooling system and bled it of any air locks, changed the thermostat but still no heat. Could the problem be the water pump ?

  So I'm thinking driveshaft, yet it's not making the familiar clicking sound on tight turns. Then if it's not that, then possibly coming from the gearbox. After the oil has heated and become thinner, whatever is loose in the box would be likely to show up more, I guess.   This chattering rattle happens at all speeds whether in or out of gear. Negotiating a bump the rattling increases slighty and when that happens my thoughts swing back to it being a  suspension problem.
