• Spark plugs heat range - Toyota Corolla 5 Apr 2005 (Forum)
  Just replaced the plugs on my 2001 1.4 vvti corolla. The supplier did not have the correct plugs and gave me a set that are one heat number cooler. Car runs well on the new plugs. Am I likely to do any long term damage by what I have done? Appreciate your comments.

  And thus it starts   Car is a 2012 1.6 diesel with the Eloys system with a tank under the car...   So it went into Peugeot dealers with a quote to fill tank and reset the tank    6 hours later and they tell me i need:- A windscreen, a clutch, a tyre, a car battery, a key battery, front brakes (only done 12,000 miles ago), and other bric-a-brac However the DPF is FUBAR and they wont fill the DPF fluid tank  Eventually they get 1ltr in but wont "bother" resetting it...........

  My problem started in May. Engine management light came on. The problem a valve/solenoid in the front exhaust system, this was repaired under warranty. My understanding is this valve controls the flow of gasses/heat to ensure efficiency of exhaust system and the correct operation of particle filter/Catalyst and DPF.

  my car seems to take an awfully long time to heat up. what i mean is, the needle on the temp gage on the dash takes around 10-15 minutes to get to the middle. i recently replaced a k&n air filter and sports exhaust with the original ones for the car.

  Really need some help. Just noticed this morning that temp was approaching 100 on my cars temp gauge and also at the same time i am unable to get any kind of heat through the internal fans. Filled up water level and left for while, temp has gone down a bit but problem is still there. Could these two be connected?

  If the person in question happens to be one of these retards I then do the following:- As soon as the obstruction clears I drop the car into a lower gear and accelerate with maximum effort to the limit-if they've been particularly bad I also give them a good soaking with my windscreen washers. I then take satisfaction in seeing the tailgaiter sat there with an huge empty stretch of motorway in front of him, wipers going wildly and wondering what happened.

  Hi, When I aquired my car last year it was M.O.T'd the week I collected it, It had then and still has a perfectly round crack about 35-40mm dia (like a scaffold pole hit it?).It can't be felt from the in or outside and doesn't obstruct my view as its on the passenger side and high and hides away behind mt rearview mirror. will it pass an M.O.T ?

  A number of companies claim they can repair the damage (the screen is laminated). They do warn however, that the process has a risk of cracking the windscreen. Autoglass claim the unique chip repair system will give an almost invisible repair (£70), while national windscreens (£45) don't make such a claim. Any comments on your experience would be most welcome.

  My shiny new (well, less than a year since last renewal) windscreen has a small fingernail sized chip / gouge more or less dead centre and about 200mm below the interior mirror. Darned annoying, but I suppose it's what you get if you spend a lot of time on motorways.

  I have a stone chip which is now a 5 inch long crack just above the passenger wiper blade. Would they replace the windscreen? Interested to know if there is anything I should watch out for or check. I have rain and light sensors in the screen. They would'nt offer me a mobile fitting cos of the cold weather. Cheers.

  Needed the windscreen replaced due to crack ('05 Picasso), in trying to source the correct version the supplier asked me if it was of the "acoustic repellent" type. I had no idea! They got me to check for a logo on the lower corner which should look like "an ear and a deflected arrow".

  I'm having some trouble getting rid of some type of water marks from my windscreen, and wonder if anyone has seen a UK outlet for this treatment, http://www.diamondite.com/welcome.htm ,or similar? The marks are most noticeable on colder mornings with a heavy dew. The wipers appear to move the water, but there are erratic marks left behind.
