  Anyone with any thoughts or comments about the 1997 Volvo S40 automatic saloon ? Proposing to buy, low mileage for year, two owners, very good condition, genuine service history etc. Any comments would be appreciated.

    Hi guys I recently been driving manual but it kills my wrist and knees (low level arthritis) so now looking for a automatic   Can anyone recommend a good Automatic car for about £3.5 - £4k maybe 80,000 miles or less (if this budget is reasonable ) 5 door, I'm male (so no pink please lol)    I'm based in London, needs to be ULEZ and exclude category D, E etc

  In that time I've owned god-knows how many cars and driven loads of other cars and vans, either regularly or as one-offs. But in all that time - over 35 years - I've never driven an automatic. I  know the theory and principles about how automatics work, and I know I wouldn't have a problem with it..........but I've never actually driven one. Is that some kind of record?

  Hello all I am looking for some advice as I am not that great with cars. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if citeron saxo automatic gearbox radiators are different to their manual counterparts. As my current radiator on my automatic is leaking and needs replacing and I do not want to buy an incorrect radiator. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated

  I am now looking for a motor and while the healing process continues (about 18 months) I think it would help if I drove an automatic. I only have about £1300 so I was wondering what you good peoples views are on the best made automatic car/gearbox out there is? I'm looking for a family size car. Cheers for any help.

  Thinking of buying Toyota Auris automatic for the wife. Budget is £5000 so looking at first generation (2007 to 2012) model heard this is MMT transmission one. Is this going to be problematic and costly with MMT version? Many thanks in advance for any comments.

  There is a letter in the HJ column in Saturday's Daily Telegtaph warning buyers off CVT automatic gearboxes (presumably as opposed to torque converter gearboxes). Is there a list anywhere which shows which cars have CVT boxes? Is that the same thing as a magnetic clutch?

  And after a drive which showed why the clutch was going, driving around with her foot to the floor at 5,500 revs!    She decided she wanted an automatic but liked the renault megane saloon shape.    She has seen a 2007 renault megane 1.9 dci saloon, 34000 miles FSH, automatic,    Are these automatics any good or is she west to stay clear, she liked her car and wants another the same shape.

  Can anyone tell me at what date the different licenses came in (ie restricted to automatics only if test passed in an auto)? I was under the potentially erroneous impression that it was sometime in the last 18 years (period for which I have held a license).

  Because of a medical reason I need a automatic. I only have £1000 to spend. Anything up to a 1.8, estate or a hatchback. If you was to buy one with that sort of money what would you go for? What auto's are better/more reliable for a grand?

  Hi All, Would you be able to assist me with the folowwing problem please? It's a 2011 Renault Grand Scenic 1.5 dCi automatic. It drove perfectly prior to lock down. It’s been sitting  since the beginning of the first lockdown and has somehow developed an gearbox ECU issue in that time. The car powers up but we can’t get it to start because it thinks it’s in gear because of the ECU fault.

  A friend has a problem with her automatic transmission.  The car was apparently behaving normally with all forward gears available. As she was parking the car she tried to select reverse, the T-bar moved but reverse would not engage.
