  Hi all Can anyone shed any light on the fact that my Audi has a life of its own. When the ignition is off the starter still turns the engine over & will only stop when the battery is disconnected. I have disconnected the ignition plug on the steering column & problem is still there when the battery is connected.

  The automatic release facility no longer works, so I have to use manual release by depressing the foot brake, this is tricky when on a slope. I have been told by my independent Audi garage that the clutch cylinder will need to be replaced as the faulty switch is part of it. Is this correct? And should this fault have developed on a vehicle of this age? (70000 miles)

  Just looking at my options on the company car front... Spent some time looking at the A4 Avant. When I got to the price list on the Audi site, the car is listed twice: *Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDi S Line *Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDi TDV S Line There's no difference in the performance figure or the price - does anyone know what the TDV bit is all about?

  After some internet research I discovered the 2 litre engine had a known oil consumption issue which Audi would repair at their cost on a case by case basis. Audi London advised me they would perform a free oil consumption test, but we agreed this should happen after i return back from my journey to france given the likelyhood of the reapparance of the warning light.
