  Most days she will drive 80-100 miles, primarily on country or A-roads, with a bit of small-town driving. Very occasional mostorway trips, but not often (and for long ones she could take my car). Reliability and safety is important - we depend upon our cars most days, so definitely don't want something which'll break down often). I'm pretty scrupulous about getting our cars serviced properly.

  The heating in my ford fiesta never use to work it use to always blow cold air however after changing the thermostrat the car blew hot air aswell as cool air now the care always blows hot air but does not blow cool air do you think the thermostat has broke again.

  Any help appreciated as always. Since I've had the car (2 months) the heated rear window has never worked. I have checked all the fuses and they look fine, all of the elements in the rear window also look fine, no cracks etc. I swapped the back bit of the switch with the fog light as the switch for the rear window looked burnt at the end.

  Blowers now warm (but not hot). 15 min: journey end, car is now just approaching warm internally. Note the internal heater is much quicker to heat up at lunch time, and does get fully hot. I have bled my coolant system fully, so I dont expect that is a problem.

  Not the sort of thing most people have access to until the deal is done and at payment from a garage. The JLR dealer who checked the car in question and gave it a clear bill of health did not realise this and relied on the fact that the windscreen was a OR part! So good advise to all car buyers to protect themselves !

  The suction mount on the new Garmin nuviCam is so short that it cannot be used on very raked windscreens such as my Audi A5 coupe. The top of the nuviCam fouls the windscreen and the camera will only point to the sky making it useless. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

  Help! for I am slowly going nuts. I can't stop my wipers leaving a smear on my windscreen, a smear which instantly disappears when the wipers are switch off. I have tried various glass cleaners, even white vinegar - none work. Cleaning the blades, which have just been replaced to try and solve the problem leaves an black mark on kitchen towel, a black mark,  that no matter how may times I clean the blade does not diminish.

  My rear windscreen heater and wiper only work intermittently.  At first it would seem quite random as to when they would work (i.e. They would start working part way through a journey, or at the start or not at all!)

  the windscreen wiper motor on my 53 reg corsa was seized up. it was operating really slow. it was taken out and freed off. when re installed the motor moved a little then stopped there is now no power to the motor. i have tested each wire on the plug that goes to the motor and there is nothing. is it possible the motor has blown a fuse in the fuse box. i have checked the fuse box under the bonnet and there is no blown fuse. is there another fuse box somewhere else???

  A chip caused by a motorway speed stone has now grown into an L shaped crack about 25cm long. I will be getting a new windscreen (via insurance claim) and remember some talk a while ago about what is desirable or not e.g. original equipment or any brand, insurance tied fitter or independent and so on. I've spent longer than I want to on the forum search and couldn't find the threads.

  Having replaced the wipers on my Zafira, they now will not wipe properly, they leave a smear on the up stroke, and isn't much better on the down stroke.The originals were perfect, and if i hadn't binned them i'd be putting them back on. I have cleaned the windscreen, the wipers till i'm blue in the face, but to no avail.What can the problem be, is the wiper not pressing down hard enough, how can i get them to work better please.It doesn't seem to matter if it's belting down or just misty the result is the same.

  About three weeks ago a stone chipped the windscreen dead centre about three inches from the bottom. Then ten days ago I noticed a hairline crack creeping horizontally from the chip to the left. (This was the outer layer of the lamination only.) The crack now extends almost to the edge on the left and about six inches to the right.

  my mate has a x reg fiesta the heating just packed up last night, i don\'t know if its electric switch or mechanical yet, not looked but the blower works, just cold air no hot, any ideas?
