Peugeot expert Hdi 2002 - Peugeot expert fault, need an experts input ! 18 Jan 2016 (Forum)
Ok here goes, had this van for years, first got it it went like a rocket ship but not now, about 3 years ago van wouldn't start, Peugeot specialist diagnosed as ecu fault do replaced ecu and all was good, about a year later under hard load it would cut out, and illuminate elm light, restart after 5 seconds and run fine till the fault re occurred, this got more frequent until I was towing a car home and had to disconnect fuel rail sensor to get home, went to start van one day and it wouldn't start, looked on forum and tried double pin relay, connector was damaged so I wired up new relays and the van would run again, still in limp mode with fuel rail sensor disconnected, got a scrap car to swap bits over from and here's where I am now, Swapped injectors Swapped rail sensor Swapped for And it was still no better so I assumed the worst and changed high pressure pump, van started up and eml came straight on, yeah still in limp mode so I took it for a brief drive, cleared fuel rail pressure sensor fault and it wouldn't clear, turned van off to check fuel rail sensor wiring ( one pin earth, middle pin 9.3v with ignition on and other pin 4.98v, thought the 9.3 reading was strange so traced wiring to check for damage but seems ok, went to fire van back up and it won't start Fault codes p1135, p1517, p0234, p1100, p0380, p1138 all return after cranking and p0190 won't clear, please help -
Peugeot 306 HDi 2.0 (2000) - 306 HDi...possibly a dumb question 9 Dec 2010 (Forum)
The obvious downsides would be that if the ignition was in a pre ignition state then rather than just running for 10 seconds it would run constantly which if not paid attention to could flatten the batter obviously But other than that are there any real downsides to just abandoning the ECU/Relay control of this pump and just running it straight from a hardwired 12v supply as this would "seem" to remove a hell of a lot of "common faults" from the system that seem to do little more than the 10 second priming feature before the car starts Many thanks Mike -
Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - 97 1.6 car does not start in the wet... 2 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I had found that the car would start by using a "boost pack" so using that finding I replaced the battery today (24/11/09) after charging the "new" battery for an hour (one never knows how long the batteries are laying "dormant" in the stores for) the car momentarily showed signs of its old tricks i.e not starting then lo n behold she fired up. I'm of the mind that the ECU relay may be at fault having scrolled thru' annuls of forums but a) where is the ECU relay - unable to locate near fuse box under dashboard on o/s and b) are there any other faults that could be occurring? -
Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 03 1.2 sudden loss of power 21 Nov 2009 (Forum)
The Ecu has not stored any codes but i was told when looking at the live data that the cat didnt seem to be working. Could this be the cause of my problems? have I caused the problem when removing inlet manifold to clean throttle? -
Vauxhall Astra F (1991 - 1998) - 94 1.4 non starter 10 Aug 2009 (Forum)
The supply to the fuel pump relay coil is from the ignition switched 12 volt line and is sunk by terminal B6 of the ECU. The 12 v on the switched terminals of the relay is from the permanent 12 V supply. (and yes I do have a good earth on the pump connection!) Is the fault likely to be on the ECU (terminal B6 not sinking the coil current?) -
Volkswagen - Are DSGs really bullet proof ? 26 Jan 2008 (Forum)
This takes the form of a warning light, followed by a very small amount of clutch burning, the smell of which floods the cabin. Carry on with the abuse and the ECU will artificially mimic clutch slip, hinting at a mechanical catastrophe. If this isn't enough, as a last resort, the next time the car comes to a standstill, the drive is completely disengaged until temperatures return to normal. -
1998 Cinquecento SX cuts out 25 May 2007 (Forum)
Dont know if thats significant, maybe just a coincidence. I have had a diagnostic test done, before all the ECU resets, but no fault showed UP !! any help appreciated thanks ! -
Astra running rough (longish) 28 Jul 2003 (Forum)
(The injector itself has been replaced but this made no difference). Then started running rough when fully warmed up/driven for about 1/2 hr. ECU warning light started coming on sporadically, again when warm/driven >1/2hr, turned out to be EGR valve. Replaced. ECU light stopped coming on, but still tappy injector & rough running, now getting more noticable even from cold. -
Volkswagen Golf MK6 2011 tdi 1.6 - My Car vibrates on Idle after fuel injector change 24 Feb 2023 (Forum)
I've done about 20 miles since had this from the mechanics, should I drive it a lot more to let the ECU learn or something and will this ease the vibrating at idle? Even when the car is on PARK - it vibrates now that is noticeable. What can i do? The mechanic agreed and he said drive it for around 100 miles and see if it fixes it. -

REF DW & his 3008 Puretech 130 - Depending on the age of the car it might be due a software update for the engine ecu. There's has been a software update campaign for the older Puretech 130's that Peugeot / Citroen main dealers will carry out when you take the car in for a service / other work. Either ask your main dealer / UK customer service OR check your vin on Service Box as it will tell you if your car requires a main dealer visit. -
Mazda 6 - Mazda 6 dpf/power loss problems 4 Mar 2017 (Forum)
This followed by all the DPF problems finally needing new filter , sensors etc. new filter (patterned version) clogged twice, patterned sensors failed resulting in severe loss of power on motorway. Finally had filter 'gutted' and ECU remapped. All ok for few weeks, now getting random loss of power/ slow throttle response. On last two occasions, driving down a steep hill seemed to rectify that ??? -

Vauxhall Corsa B '93 - Help Please! Hot Start - Fuel not electrics? 7 Jun 2015 (Forum)
It starts and runs perfectly all the time with no performance problems I can detect , but when properly hot after 10 miles or so, if stalled or switched off will not even try to fire unless it's cooled for a few minutes. I've changed the ECU temperature sender, the coil, the ignition amplfier and the distributer (with the hall effect dectector within). There seems to be spark at the plugs.. So are there any fuel system or any other components that could do this? -
Citroen Saxo - fault code p1205... but car only has 4 cylinders! 19 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Does anyone know what this means on my car? I thought it only had 4 cylinders?! It has a bosch ecu...presumably there is some logic in the program that creates this fault code under certain circumstances... but what the devil is it? Thank you in advance... -
Any - Who's had their DPF removed? 25 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Most companies also offer/perform a remap at the same time Was the performance increased? Was the economy increased? Have you encountered any problems (ecu not reprogrammed correctly etc..?) I'm giving serious consideration to buying an 06-07 plate mazda 6 2.0D and having the DPF removed as from my research this is the main problem area with this car/engine. -
VW Mk 7 Golf TDI 2.0 SE dsg. - Very Disappointed 1 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Have spoken to them at VW UK and was told they are all like this, is that correct or will they eventually recall cars for a replacement ECU or a remap. I thought new cars were meant to be getting more efficient but in this case (40 mpg) they are not . Am I alone? -
