  • Another New Car Choice Query 25 Nov 2009 (Forum)
She would like a more fuel efficient vehicle and is very keen on the new Ford Fiesta 1.4 Zetec. It has similiar fittings to her Mondeo, such as heated windscreen and trip computer etc., all items which she is keen to retain in a new car. I run a Honda Accord Tourer and that is our general load carrier, so as long as her new car will accommodate her mother plus wheelchair then that would be ok.

  • CD's in windscreen 19 May 2003 (Forum)
I've just looked at pugugly's note 'Fun' and saw his mention of CD's in windscreen. I recently saw several cars being driven by Indian or Asian drivers and they had the above mentioned hanging from the drivers mirror. They had writing of an Indian/Asian appearance on them and I assumed it was a cultural or religious adornment of some sort.

  • Any - Insurance claims and windscreen replacements. 19 Jan 2015 (Forum)
Clarification needed. My daughter recently renewing her car insurance was contacted by the insurer to say a search showed that she had had 3 claims in the last 5 years and not 1 as she stated online. In fact, she had one claim against her for a minor bump to a parked car, £480, so she challenged this and was told that 2 windscreen replacements (on different vehicles) counted as claims.

  • Mercedes CLK Convertible (2006) - Windscreen damage after polishing 22 Jul 2019 (Forum)
Earlier on the EPC light on my golf was traced to a knackered turbo which of course will cost and now I may well have ruined the windscreen on the CLK (wonder what the 3rd thing will be?) Bottom line is that the CLK had fine scratches in the windscreen visible in direct sunlight and oncoming headlights at night. After doing some online research it seemed hopeful that using a paste of cerium oxide on an an electric car polisher might do the trick and of course the internet is always right...ahem....
  • New Mondeo Brakes 29 Aug 2003 (Forum)

  • Why stick mirrors to the windscreen? 3 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Why do car makers stick the rear veiw mirror to the windscreen on modern cars? It fell off for the third time this morning (just as i was changing gear so it bashed my hand.) First time it fell off was about an hour after buying the car, stuck back on with the pads you buy from halfords, that held for a few weeks, then it came off again, this time when dipping the mirror.

  • BMW 316I SE - Stick or Change 3 Jun 2013 (Forum)
It is due an MOT in March and will require the following work: I think it has a hole in the Exhaust back box, not sure if this is an issue or not, does not appear to create that much noise? Requires the back brake pipes replacing. Cost £200 to replace the front at the last MOT. Advisory on previous MOT  Front suspension bushes have had it and need replacement. Hand brake does not hold very well, not sure of cause. It also some rust is starting to come through on various parts of the car, front wings, rear rings and windscreen piller.
  • Mercedes Benz C-Class W202 (1993 - 2000) - 98 1.8 Windscreen Wiper fault 18 Jan 2010 (Forum)
I have a Mercedes C Class ('Spirit') R-reg (1998). The problem I am experiencing is with the windscreen wipers: On the 'intermittent' mode, it begins and stops in the middle of the windscreen as oppose to covering the whole windscreen. On the 'half speed' and 'full speed' it operates normally i.e. covering the whole windscreen.
