I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge.. and the way i explain the problem! I have a (pug 306 hdi 2.0 Meridian estate Y reg) With a faulty fuel gauge reading( Always reads higher than half a tank even when there is less) I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP(Curtsey of a garage). Lately the car will not start at times, For me to get it to start when it doesn't start it will take 3 diesel containers(£24 to start).. which is weird on one occasion I believed there to be half a tank in there, so I traveled 80 miles and then thought i would put another £20 worth of diesel in it alas Diesel peed out over the edge I had a full tank!! -

I found my diesel leaking from the fuel tank. I looked and found that someone had drilled a 10mm hole into the bottom of the metal tank and pinched all of my diesel, (scum!!!). Do I replace or fill with grommet/epoxy. -

Anyone else noticed petrol and diesel prices creeping up recently? It’s being blamed in distribution issues caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, despite the fact that we haven’t imported any from Russia this year. And supermarkets holding onto a greater margin on fuel sales. -

Will it start running again if some fuel is poured in its tank? Or running dry will cause serious damage to engine? Is the situation different in petrol or Diesel cars? I'm asking because recently on occasions I found that car ran out of fuel slightly away from petrol station and blokes are filling from a jerry can. -

Could someone please tell me what is meant by higher detergent fuel? I currently use bog standard BP unleaded (95 RON) but was reading an article the other day which talked about swapping to a higher detergent fuel ... but I don't know what that would be. Local station only sells unleaded (95 RON), super unleaded (97 RON) and diesel. -

I have a diesel engine. I have noticed that the fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine (going through the fuel filter) every morning (or after a few hours sitting) no longer has fuel in it, and won't start, it just keeps trying to start but not catching (becuase there is no fuel in the engine). -
