• Cavalier Heater Not Heating! 14 Nov 2005 (Forum)
  This time the heater dosen't seem to be working, i.e. no hot (or even warm) air which is a bit of a pig on these cold mornings these days.I have always tried the heater when the engine temp reaches 90 degrees so I should have something. Instead all I have is a constant flow of cold air which is not pleasant to use to demist the windscreen with! I haven't got any leaks that I can see and have got the heater settings in the right places so I'm clueless. Can anyone please help as it's driving me nuts, thanx.....

  Hi, my Focus has a plastic trim around the edge of the front windscreen.  It has popped out along the top edge and makes a whistling noise.  I've tried pushing it back in but it just pops out again.  Any ideas as to what would be safe to use to glue it back in?

  I am shortly replacing the front wipers on my VW Golf Mk4, I have the substantial looking flexible wing type,dead easy to remove just rotate 45 degrees & remove from the pin post. Has anyone any experience of an alternative wiper ( alternative to the main dealer replacements ) or experimented with replacement rubbers ?

  Hi HJ, I hope someone can help, my 306 rear heated windscreen stopped working, so i checked the relay to see if it was that, when i prised it out, there was a spark, saw there was scorch marks to the prongs, put it back in and since then my indicators and hazards dont work, when i lock the car the indicators still flash though.

  My 607 seems to be letting rainwater in and it's collecting in the rear passenger footwell (under the carpet). I have checked the door seals and there is no leak there. A car glass repairer has looked at the front windscreen, and as far as he can tell there is no leak from the windscreen (he unhooked all of the trim around the windscreen and there were no signs of water ingress).

  I was surprised when both back and front windscreen washers stopped working on my 2 year old Focus. The problem was sediment and gunge in the reservoir which had blocked the filter. Unfortunately this is quite hard to get to, located under the wheel arch and behind the arch liner.

  The website now lists Volvo XC60 and XC90 as vehicles that may have difficulty using the tag. This is apparently because the metal elements in the heated front screens act as a shield. In other vehicles with this feature the tag is placed directly on the screen at a point in front of the rear view mirror. There are no heating elements here apparently so the tag can be read by the overhead sensors.
