Nissan Micra K11 - Micra or Sirion for cheap small auto car? 30 Oct 2011 (Forum)
With the Sirion, I'm worried about it breaking and no one knowing how to fix it as I don't have a tame mechanic I can call on to help. In both cases, the late 90's automatics aren't covered. I know that cheap means I shouldn't go for a specific model but I thought I would be safest with a Micra, am I wrong? I don't have any experience with Autos so I'm not even sure what I need to check when buying one. -
Toyota Avensis 2004 - knocking on steering 6 Sep 2011 (Forum)
I've read that greasing worked get rid of the knocking on earlier Avensis models, but also that some 2004 t3's were recalled because the intermediate steering shaft was incorrectly assembled and sometimes resulted in premature wear of the shaft splines. I've only bought this a couple of years ago and it was 7,000 miles beforethe knocking first appeared. -

Kangaroo cars 14 Feb 2010 (Forum)
In slow traffic, to avoid jumping into the car in front I had to slip the clutch and use the handbrake. I complained several times but always received the answer, ?It?s the way you drive, Sir?. The dealer didn?t do anything at first, but mysteriously the throttle cable was replaced several times during routine servicing under ?product change?. Eventually the Manufacturer managed to get the problem sorted. -

Germany + Winter tyre Regulations 6 Jan 2010 (Forum)
The law does not specify which type of tyre is 'appropriate' the general opinion is that any type of tyre except summer tyres is appropriate, including all-year tyres. Winter tyres must bear the mark M&S or display the snowflake on the side wall. Motorists, whose car is equipped with summer tyres while there is snow and ice, may not take the car on the road. Motorists in violation face fines of ?20. -
Chrysler Voyager (1997 - 2001) - 99 2.5 No glowplug light / no crank 16 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Hi, can anyone help with this problem? I have recently aquired a 1999 (S) 2.5 diesel Voyager that does't start. The vehicle cut out and failed to restart. The obvious faults are no glow plug light/no crank(even with clutch depressed)..Fuse 17 (PCM) in the Power Dist. Centre had blown and was replaced by an attending RAC patrol (before I got the car) but made no difference. -

Scary Mountain Passes 15 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Hyundai had no problems- just a bit of clutch pong when I?d to reverse out of the way for an oncoming vehicle. What?s the best car to drive these roads nowadays? I?m thinking narrow, short, with good brakes and a torquey turbo diesel. -
