  I’ve just watched a you tube video called, “ look what you’ve done” released by Durham constabulary, it is regarding an accident last year on the A1 , I don’t know how to post links, so you if you want to view it you will have to search for it, if anyone was in any doubt as to what can happen whilst using a phone whilst driving then this video will make it very clear, it’s very harrowing so if it’s not for you then do not watch, ( I have no connection with anyone in the video, this is not spam) 
• BMW X1 - Warrenty 21 Jun 2022 (Forum)
  I bought a 63 plate BMW x1, it came with a new mot and a three month warranty. I've had it a few weeks now and have noticed small patches of oil on my drive. When I went through the mot paperwork I noticed it says it has a small oil leek but nothing to be worried about. The car cost £7000.  I'm asking should the warrenty cover the repair?

  Been driving our 2012 diesel Sportage today around town so stops and starts. However, the engine management light has come on. I have a diagnostic tool a while ago and plugged that in when I got home.  The message which came up was : P0404 *7E8 VD10 1/1 Generic 1/1 Exhaust Gas Recirculation "A" Control Circuit Range/ Performance Is this a problem with the EGR valve, and if so can it be cleaned or does it have to be replaced?

  Hi all, looking for some advice on the best used car for a relative. Needs to be reliable, economical to run but still decent to drive and not too much of an ‘older person car’! Budget is £6-7k but that doesn’t seem to get you much at the moment. Car will be mostly used for shortish journeys around town and some short motorway trips.

  Hi guys My car just passed its MOT like 2 days ago. Last night I was driving home when I noticed the Front Off side brake (or Somewhere infront of the driver) was grinding when I brake. I e checked the pads and they look good, no advisories for brakes.   What else could be causing it?

  even though I was very careful , very slow and smooth, on both occasions there was a horrible grating sound from the exhaust as the car went over.   I drive an mpv  so no low suspension. Any suggestions to avoid this, other than don't go, welcome. Is there any legislation covering speed bumps ?

  has anyone had this problem i have just been locked out of my car as i just got out of my car to speak to a mate and the car looked its self the keys were in the ignition; it has done this before when i am driveing along. anyone had this if so how did you fix this.regards dave

  Driving along on straight A road, light traffic, this morning doing about 45-50mph.  Car in front decides to STOP to let a van join the A road. I  didnt rear end him, as I was reasonable distance behind, but was not expecting someone to be so stupid and dangerous.
• Mazda 3 - Steering wheel vibration 30 Jul 2021 (Forum)
  My wife’s Mazda 3 has started intermittently vibrating through the steering wheel. Never when I am driving. Until today.  It was quite marked and when I checked the road wheels the front near side wheel was very hot with a slight smell of burning. I am guessing a brake pad issue? What does the panel think?

  Hi,   I have a 2014 Corsa with 76000miles on the clock. Over the last few months it has been making a loud, high pitched noise when I am driving above 40ishmph. The car feels like it's running fine, no loss of power etc. I had the oil changed today as well as the break pads and discs but it's still the same. It sounds to me like the engine running normally , just a bit more high pitched.

  I was made redundant and normally had a company car so have not brought a used car for a few years. I have a family but we have a family car (Citoren C4) so this will mainly be for my new work driving collecting and delivering COVID tests. Any ideas of a good reliable car would be appreciated.   It only seems to happen when the road surface is quite bad. When its smooth I dont hear anything. I also can hear anything just driving in a straight line even with a poor surface. Anyone have an idea what it could be?  Thanks

  Well covid did for a trip to Australia so the slk went in px for the E class instead.  I have studied the manual but there are so many things to get used to. It drives very nicely and  does mid 40's to a gallon, very comfortable and easy to see out of which wasn't the case with the slk. Had a major service from the main dealers before I got it but after the warranty year runs out it will my trusted indie looking after it.

  Hi All, Completely new to this.   I have  BMW X3 2.0d x drive and would like to replace it with PHEV or hybrid. My challenges are that I generally do a 110 mile commute (55 each way) with the occasional 200 miler and quite a lot of night time/weekend ferrying the kids around- totaling around 35,000 miles a year.

  Hi, My engine developed a ticking noise on idle I assume it is tappets but I never dealt with them before just seeing if anyone knows best way to check them and if they done them on a fiesta and know tolerance to check against please? I am a DIY low experience mechanic. Thanks It starts and drives fine oil level correct  
• Audi A4 B6 VW Passat 03 - Which VW/Audi Cars had North South Layout 23 Mar 2020 (Forum)
  I really prefer the balance that a North / South engine gearbox layout brings. Ok changing a ca m belt is a pain but not needed that often. Equal length drive shafts and better weight distribution. But is this layout only found in the Audi range A4/3 or was it common to the group cars around the early 2000 s ?
• Fiat 500 - Going to view a car tomorrow 21 Feb 2020 (Forum)
  Hey all, I'm going to view a Fiat 500 tomorrow, 2013 with 36000 on the clock, apart from obvious checks as tyres, fluid, test drive, brakes etc is there anything else I should look out for and ask about?  The guy is putting a new MOT on it tomorrow morning.  If all pans out ok tomorrow, I will be the owner of a Fiat 500, rather excited !!
• Toyota - Buying a used imported car? (£3000) 14 Dec 2019 (Forum)
  The dealer isn’t sure where the car originated from although I’m sure the VIN will tell me this. It’s right-hand drive and mileage is in Km. The usual internet checks for MOT, etc, only go back two years (the car is 11 years old). The V5 is available. I’m just wary that the history can’t be seen. Any other pitfalls to be wary of, please?

  I've started but new contract last week it lasts for 12-months everyday I'll be driving 150 miles round trip 4 days a week only not sure which car to buy at the moment I have a 12 years old Golf TDI 1.9 is the company laois a better option than a PCP I'm looking for a comfortable mid-range SUV and if it comes with some latest gadgets nothing like it my budget is is approximately £10,000 for 3 years any suggestions will be grateful
