VAG - EURO5 DPF info 6 May 2017 (Forum)
Not recommended for sale in the Channel Islands and inner city driving. • Customers who continue to drive the vehicle with DPF light on – Continued driving with the DPF light on and without successful regeneration results in excessive soot loading of the DPF, to a point where it is above 95% loaded. -
Audi A2 - Why the Audi A2 was such a groundbreaking car 1 Jun 2025 (Forum)
Fell in love with the A 2 when I met the club members at Kimbolton show. Bought the TDi 90 version and things fell apart soon after . A pool of oil on the drive from a damaged oil filler and one thing after another went wrong. But the colour in Piedmont Red and the shape , interior space and seating position The Modern day equivalent is the I3 Must have another try and perhaps a petrol this time https://ebx.sh/WiCwIO -

Honda Jazz - Multiple Mots and Miles after sale of car. 14 Sep 2024 (Forum)
I’m about to go for a test drive of a used Jazz. I noticed something strange while doing my research on the car, it has only one registered owner with a sale date of 2017, however multiple mots and miles have been racked up since. -
Any - Cataract Surgery 5 Aug 2024 (Forum)
So nearly 4 months on, What a difference, still need specs for reading but vision 20/20 after seeing my lovely consultant and his team today. Well worth the temporary inconvenience. Driving is so much better at night. Macular degeneration is stable. no worsening for 2 years now, so next check up 5 months instead of 12-14 weeks as usual. -
Any - Low Mileage? 26 Jul 2024 (Forum)
cars - as compared to say 30-40 years a go when 80-90K would have been a high milage range? Or are people just doing more driving nowadays so that 80-90K is just not that much in distance terms anymore? Just curious. -
Honda Civic - Worn brake pads and sc***ing sound 23 May 2024 (Forum)
At the last main dealer service in January I was told that all the brakes were around 75% worn so I planned to replace them all later in the year. Today however I can hear a grating noise on and off as I’ve been driving. Car is a 2018 with 33,000 miles on the clock. My question is: Is this grating noise the sound of the discs being damaged or is it a warning mechanism of some sort to tell me that the pads need replacing? -
DSG Kickdown 19 Apr 2024 (Forum)
When I took my Karoq DSG to a Skoda dealer yesterday, the Sales Manager took it for a test drive and repeatedly floored the accelerator whilst on the move. His explanation was that he was testing the kickdown. I thought I'd mention it partly to assist anyone thinking of buying a DDG with a quick test of some sort. -
Basingstoke new roundabout slammed. 1 Mar 2024 (Forum)
We have recently had Brighton Hill roundabout finished after around two years. It's attracting lots of criticism from 17 driving instructors who say how can they show pupils how to use it when they don't understand it themselves. It's even making the national news. Traffic lights are on the roundabout and each change to green starts the gran prix with vehicles in the wrong lanes cutting across others to access one of the 6 exits. -
Choosing an automatic Family Vehicle 20 Feb 2024 (Forum)
My wishes are: automatic, reliability, fuel efficient, nice interior and not too boring to drive. So far my short list includes: Mazda CX 5 (2020/2021 model), Peugeot 2008 (2024) and Skoda Kamiq (2024). Would love to have your feedback and if you can think of anything else, I would love to hear! -
Morocco bound 4 Nov 2023 (Forum)
Just had a week in Marrakech, driving there would take some getting into. Thousands of motorbikes buzzing everywhere getting into any space available in the heavy traffic. Most of the taxis are Dacias and with the heavy traffic and tailgating etc you'd expect dings and dents everywhere but no, not at all. -
Toyota RAV4 - Used Rav4/Kodiaq or new Karoq 28 Oct 2023 (Forum)
Hi All Based on my research, have shortlisted Rav4 (say 2021 model for £27k) and was wondering if instead should go for a new Skoda Karoq. Use: Mainly city weekend driving; looking for no EV; okay with Mild Hybrid but not a criteria; looking for space to seat 3 in the middle row (say with one car seat); annual mileage 6000-7000 max; prefer Petrol over Diesel (mainly due to odour that wifey cant tolerate) -

SsangYong Korando - A short continental tour 4 Jul 2023 (Forum)
Drove wife, dog and self and a very full car off to the Moselle region of germany, including a stop south of brussels on the way, and back via Bruges, Just ona 1000 miles all told. Fuel consumption was about 34 mpg, traffic horrendous most of the time, except for driving across luxembourg.) Car as comfy as ever and zero problems, saw 2 other Korandos in Germany and Belgium, which is 2 more than I have seen on essex roads. -
Vw golf gte - Hybrid car 7 Feb 2023 (Forum)
I’m looking for a car that’s a self charging and plug in hybrid along the lines of a golf gte, where it can either be plugged in or charge when driving. During the week it would be used for short journeys so hopefully would run on battery, then at the weekends longer motorway journeys. Other than the golf what other makes and models could I look at with similar capabilities, obviously not all would have the golf gte performance and my budget is around £18000 -
What price exclusivity? 29 Jan 2023 (Forum)
Interesting to note in the description that it "combines motorcycle-like dynamics with a car-like driving experience". I wonder which part of the tilting body and two seats in tandem the seller considers, car-like?! Still, if I had the money, I'd have it like a shot! -
to be decided - electric cars for the elderly 5 Oct 2022 (Forum)
I am in my 80’s and run an ageing Honda Jazz iShift. Goes very well, but is now 14 years old. My wife drives the car mainly to visit nearby friends all within five mike radius. I use it for getting to a couple of social clubs I belong to. Our combined annual mileage is barely 2500 miles. Might we do better to invest in an electric car and save the barely affordable annual servicing costs we presently have to pay? -
