Mazda 6 - Diesel Particulate Filter Issues [Mazda 6] 4 Sep 2015 (Forum)
We really like the car, but I don't want (nor can we afford) to keep having to service the DPF. If there's a fix out there that'll cost less than a grand to resolve this completely (meaning I can use 6th gear again!), then we'll go for it. Otherwise, I guess we'll put the money towards something else. -

Dirty old `soot ball juggling` diesel? - at 6.5yrs 16 Dec 2008 (Forum)
The manufacturers must surely be sweating to sort out the `unfit for purpose` DPF fiasco before the general (non technical) public realise that there`s another reason to not buy a new diesel - other than the recession. Cheap soot and stink? Or expensive and constipated DPF with failed laxatives? -
I got a diesel van when I only do short runs and now the DPF keeps clogging. What petrol van should I replace it with? 15 Apr 2020 (Ask HJ)

Anti diesel hype exaggerated? 8 Jun 2017 (Forum)
I quote: "But the hassle and cost is considerable. AdBlue to add regularly, then the possibility of AdBlue heater, DPF and EGR failures if not straight away, in the future. Those are the reasons I'd be wary of diesel. Not so economical when you have to spend £2,000 - £4,000 replacing emissions equipment after 3 - 4 year" Now I accept that EGR and DPF failures occur. -
Mazda 6 2007 Diesel - DPF regen failure/air mass sensor link? 4 Nov 2016 (Forum)
For about six months the car has, I think, had two simultaneous faults. 1) A failed DPF regen about 1000 miles after a filter replacement. The car had covered about 1000 miles since the replacement and had done about 100 miles of steady motorway driving on the day the DPF light came on. -
Mazda Mazda 6 (2008 -) - 08 2.0d DPF problems 12 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Has anyone else had to deal with this? How should I go about trying to get this covered by Mazda, as I can't afford the DPF system to crash every 10,000 miles / 9 months and cost me £250+? It would seem to me that this perfectly fits the description of 'not fit for purpose', so who should I complain to if I don't get a satisfactory reply from Mazda UK? -
Ford fiesta 1.5 tdci 2015 - My car now greedy on fuel after forced dpf regen 14 May 2023 (Forum)

2.2 tdci mondeo tit x sport 2011 - Ref cars in limp mode 21 Nov 2017 (Forum)
Evening guys bit of a story to my issue, a few months ago I replaced the battery on my car then a few weeks later engine light came on took it to a mechanic who plugged it in and said dpf fault. So leave the car and had the dpf taken off and given an acid bath so it's clean, everything reset and away I go. Approx 700 miles later engine light comes back on, few days later limp mode. back to the garage and code read again and dpf issue. -
Ford Focus 1.6tdci - Ford Focus 1.6tdci oil level increasing 11 Feb 2015 (Forum)
The fuel economy has dropped from 55 to 43 mpg, and the power has dropped off also. I've had the dpf replaced 4 months ago. This problem only really started after the dpf was replaced; I read somewhere that the engine could be constantly trying to regerate the dpf? Does the engine oil lubricate the fuel pump? -
Ford Focus - Engine Smoke after Forced Regen - 1.6TDci 4 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Oh and if any one is thinking about buying a Diesel Focus don't the issues I have had with the DPF have put me off the entire brand for life. -
Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI - Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI 55p Plate DPF Refil 2 May 2012 (Forum)
I have an error code og P2584 or simular which when I checked tells me that the DPF need regeneration. I am tempted to do this myself as ford charge a whopping £210 for this. I can get the JLN fluid for £40 of ebay. However the more I read the less sure I am, I have also readd a refilling frocedure which involved opening and closing the fuel filler cap 3 times in 30 seconds which seems a bit far fetched to be honest.
