  • Parallel Parking Against The Traffic 9 Sep 2020 (Forum)
Legal in the UK in daylight but illegal in darkness. Fines up to A GRAND (!!!! ). I didn't know that, and probably did it quite often. Phew! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5740463/You-parking-car-wrong-way-risking-fine-1-000-strict-rules.html I recovered the car today, taking a charged battery to it by bus.
  • Fines for parking on private property 20 Dec 2010 (Forum)
This weekend I took my son and 3 of his friends to the cinema, on my way there the heavens opened & it began to snow very heavily it was actually as bad as any blizzard I had seen (and I'm not exaggerating). I decided to park the car close to the train station and walk to the cinema from there as I didn't want to stay on the road for any longer than I absolutely needed to. Upon returning to where the car was parked I discovered it had been towed away.
  • To late to appeal? 13 Sep 2018 (Forum)
I received a parking ticket and used a company called Private parking appeals. They sorted the situation out for me without me having to pay the ticket. It turnes out that I had used the same car park (under the the same mis-assumption that it was legal) 2 weeks after the first fine i received.
  • Parking tickets. 19 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Have just read a letter in my local paper regarding parking tickets. The writer is of the opinion that because it states on the front of the parking ticket that "it is a criminal offence to remove or interfere with this notice" then to remove or open said ticket would be a criminal offence and therefore one cannot pay the requisite parking fine.

  • Parking fine whilst on holiday in Jersey 23 Jul 2017 (Forum)
Car Parked in disabled bay in St Helier today, correctly displaying Mrs 72 dudes' blue badge (or so we thought!). Came back within the time limit to find a parking penalty notice (proper one issued by town council not a private firm).
  • Parking Fine - This Can't Be Right? 19 Jun 2006 (Forum)
I'm feeling a big sense of injustice about a recent parking ticket and wonder if anyone can tell me if I have a case for challenging it. I unwittingly parked in a disabled parking bay on an otherwise unrestricted street on a Thursday morning. A parking ticket was apparently attached to my car that afternoon.
  • Chrysler Grand Voyager 2004 limited XS - Reverse lights 2004 chrysler grand voyager 25 Nov 2011 (Forum)
I have checked the park/stop fuses and they work fine. Now i'm stuck.... Mine is a 2004 limited XS. I beleive the park assist is factory, but it does not have the park assist module in the left rear quarter, like a 2005 does.
  • Mercedes Benz E class E220 DIESEL AUTO (2002) - Transmission 12 Aug 2017 (Forum)
Same car, further development! ! When engine is cold, it revs fine and goes into gear forward or reverse, though I still have it parked because when the engine has been running for 10 to 15 mins and warmed up sufficiently, it still revs? Good power etc but only in Neutral or Park,  put it in drive or reverse and no power, it just idles, move it to neutral or park, revs fine, perplexed, any ideas greatly appreciated, Brian

  • Overstaying car park duration. 5 Sep 2008 (Forum)
One of my employees parked in B&Q car park at 8o'clock the other evening, three hours free parking, left just after midnight according to the letter I had this morning. Lovely colour picture of his car taken entering the car park, timed, and a black and white photo of him leaving. £95 fine or £75 if paid promptly, wonderful technology.

What would happen if a driver  was "fined" for non payment of parking fee - if they were picking up a disabled passenger - in a wheelchair who, obviously could not use a free bus to get to a picking up zone ?

  • Old Parking tickets on your new car 27 Jan 2008 (Forum)
If I buy a secondhand car from a dealer or from a man on the street how do I know that there are no unpaid parking fines on the vehicle? I assume that any fines stay with the previous owner but what happens in the interim while you are waiting for the new V5 to come through especially if the previous owner is a little relaxed about sending the V5 into DVLA?
