• Renault - Serpentine belt 8 Mar 2009 (Forum)
  Good Morning all, Yesterday the belt detached itself from its moorings on the Master van. Dear me is it a swine to steer without assistance. It continued to drive Ok and I was only about 4 miles from home. This morning I have ventured below and both pulleys and seemingly everything else is turning freely except (as I hope I am right to expect) the wheel from the crank.

  I guess one should never be surprised at what drivers do at the wheel of a moving vehicle. I saw a guy looking at the car roof immediately above his head while driving at 30+ mph. With his right arm raised, at first I thought it was some sort of hand signal. Oh no silly me. He thought it more important to empty the last few bits out of his crisp bag than concentrate on the road.

  Hi, Have just inherited a Ford Focus. It has been sat on the drive for four weeks without being driven. Started first time and drove really well. However, the accelerator is sometimes sticking. Any ideas what this might be please and how could I fix it? Or, is it a case if taking it to the nearest Ford dealer and let them have a look?

  Hi, i'm having probs with my old motor. its done 100k, not a great starter even though had new glow plugs fitted. it drives & pulls well but it idle's bad. it feels like its missing & blue smoke appears. the revs also rise & fall randomly. Any help would be welcome. Thanks, Andy. slt

  I love hte car, but I am a farm consultant and keep popping the front bumper off the car when it goes down a dip, or hits a rut in a farm drive. I do not want to go to the expense of buying an audi allroad or volvo cross country, but would just like to raise the toyota. Can anyone help?

  single point injecting system, 8 valve (fire engine), car starts & drives very well, replaced vaccum pipe which had air leak, possibly since then engine idles likes its running a bit rick or weak, injection light came on dash, fault code oxygen sensor fault - replaced, clear fault code.

  Hi I have just sold my 02 plate astra in a private sale. I took the new owner for a test drive and he was happy with the car. He has just called to say the car has broken down.   25 years ago I was stopped doing an estimated 50 in a 30 mile an hour limit (I was showing off to my mate and it was appalling driving on my part). Police Officer saw how crestfallen I was, gave me an extended talking to then let me go with what we used to call 'A 5 day wonder'. 2 months ago I was stopped doing 42 in a 30. Another rollocking, then sent on my way.

  Hello My Primera is encountering a problem but only when it is up to running temperature. When I've been driving for about 10 mins the rev counter starts to jump around and if I put my foot down the performance is affected. When I have finished the journey and get out of the car there is a burning smell. Does anyone know what the problem is?

  Hello all, I was wondering if there are any Modus owners out there - I have my driving test on Friday - however, for the life of me I can't find the brake fluid reservior in the engine... and it's a tiny engine. "Open the bonnet, identify where the brake fluid reservoir is and tell me how you would check that you have a safe level of hydraulic brake fluid. " Does anyone know.
• Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 00 1.4 Automatic stalls at traffic lights 23 Sep 2008 (Forum)
  I drive a 2000 206 GLX Automatic, however it has developed a weird but intermitten problem, when I hit the brakes to slow down and stop at lights of in traffice the car stalls, it appears to be a fuel problem but the garage assure me they have checked and there is not a problem, this issue happens for about an hour and is then fine, I am so confused any ideas??

  Guys, I have an AWX engine on my drive and the serpentine belt is going balistic at tickover. It is shaking the tensioner quite violently. Above tickover it all calms down. On inspection and depressing the metal centre bolt the tensioner moves down at least 3mm before the plastic pulley moves.

  i have a 2002 307 that broke down one day and after new hp pump, presure regulator, lp pump, ecu test still wont drive more than a mile without breaking down slt - was the p0230 an error code ?

  hi i will be renting a swb transit 2.2 tdci in a couple of weeks time to drive to glasgow and back which will be about a 1100 mile round trip.I have looked on fords web site to find out offical mpg figures but cant find any, can find power output but thats it.I want to plan in advance how much it will cost in diesel roughly.Will be loaded with furniture on way up,empty on way back.Can anyone help?

  Am thinking of buying a road legal quad bike to continue to enjoy open air riding/driving,they have a reverse gear so it will solve problem of weight wheeling it in and out of garage,I have tried the MP3 scooter but this of course has no reverse and is nearly double the weight of normal scooter,Has anyone any experience of these ?

  Got me thinking as to how good a replacement this might be, tried replicating what this van driver might see by using one as a mirror at home and the answer is not much at all, the hole in the middle of the CD is a major distraction and the image is quite dark, can't see how this can be safe to drive in traffic like this......

  I was driving home with my wife when she pushed the electric window button and the windows, sunroof, radio and computer display all stopped working. In the bonnet it turned out to be the 1st 60 Amp fuse. I replaced but it kept blowing.
