  I have a 318i Sport Plus fitted with run flat tyres on 18inch wheels. The tyres have always been fairly noisy, rather as expected but have lasted well ( 31K miles). More recently I have noticed a pronounced drone on smoooth roads between 40-50mph.

  We got this skoda in to-day that was'nt starting because starter was'nt working. After replacing starter motor we found that starter was staying engaged with engine running. Theres a 12v feed to starter solenoid at key on. Causing the 1st starter to burn out. Has any 1 any thoughts on this or encountered a similar problem Any feedback greatly accepted Regards micky-Bo

  Have just bought my son a corsa 1-2 its using about a pint of water every day also there is oily gunge in the water bottle and attributing pipes also small amount on oil filler cap but the dip stick is showing no residew .car runs perfectly and temp guages seem okay Ihave some knolwedge of  vauxhall cars, but would be grateful for your advise.

  This vehicle runs well and has only done 24,000 miles.   It has developed a bad vibration, transmitted from the engine, on the left half of the dashboard, noticeable at city driving speeds.   Curiously, dropping down the glove box cover lessens the noise!
• fiat Cabriolet - Convertible top 25 Jul 2014 (Forum)
  The top stopped working the other day and my guess is low fluid in the Hydraulics. Neither Fiat Greece or punto Forums can help me. Anyone got an idea as to what fluid it is? I've run across A T F- Brake fluid and Power Steering. Obviously want to get it right first time to top up with out problems.    Thanks  Peter

  Shoving a stick up the pipe and stirring it round it sounds like a bucket of nails. Would this be the cause of the popping back and slightly rough running? It's due in for replacement on Wednesday along with the MoT, it's perfectly driveable though slightly irritating. Temperature reading as normal. Safe to continue using without secondary damage?

  I generally drive between 60 and 70 on the motorway so the car tends to sit in the rev range where the torque output is in the 'sweet spot'. Question - is the car running at it's most efficient when the engine is producing maximum torque?   As you can probably tell from my question I'm no engineer.....

  What experiences has anyone had of buying and running an ex-driving school or ex-driving instructor car? Received wisdon is that the clutch will be shot and the gearbox on its last legs, but is this what people have experienced? The trade avoids them or marks them well down in price, so is a 12 plate Fiesta 1.25 Edge with 45-50k on the clock a reasonable buy at less than £6500?

  There are only 2 of us and 2 small dogs but we would like to upgrade to a more robust car for bad weather conditions and long journeys. Can anyone recommend a small SUV or 4x4 at reasonable cost to buy used, cheap to run and insure and reliable? There are so many good car companies it makes choosing so difficult.   It will not rev over 2000 rpm & occasionally 3000 rpm & has with very little power (no misfire or rough running) When the engine warms up (approx 2 mile ish) all the power kicks in. Not good fun on wet/greasy roads or in traffic.  Its done just ovr 60,000 miles & has a non dealer service history.  Grateful for any advice.

    The sound remains when the engine runs, and stops first when ignition is turned off. In all other ways the car works normally.

  Earlier, 1 month ago at a service carried out at Kwik Fit the "engine" symbol" came on with a code of PO299 unknown fault. They could not ID a problem The car is running fine at the moment. Have any mechanics got advice for a non mechanic. Thanks.

  anyone help car wont start when warm weather is here,when going long distance all instruments stop working and alarm set light comes on,car still runs as normal,when things cool down alarm set light goes out and instruments start working again.tried wire in pin 21 behind heater panel all ok,can anyone help thankyou.

  I have looked but cannot see any wire's just the diesel pipe going to the injectors and the return pipe. plus how can I check the fuel pump is running. thanks for any help you can give.

  Another improbable story. A colleague followed her husband home the other day and noticed sparking from the BMWs run flat tyres. Husband was doubtful at the tale but  swapped cars around and saw it for himself. A 'garage' could not see any problems. At work we debated whether the carcase wires were protruding (easy to spot surely) or if flinty stones were lodged in the tread.

  You get the same noise when driving but only at slow speed and low revs, but will drive through it. It usually does it after 5 minutes of running. It has had a recent service. Any ideas please. thanks.

  i have a 407 diesel. when i try to start it hot or cold it sounds as though the battery is flat although i have just bought a new battery, new starting motor.new clutch when you turn the ignition ther seems to be a lot of compression before it actually starts, sometimes you can here a heavy clunk and then it will start. the car runs perfect apart from this problem, can anyone enlighten me please. regards Eddy
