  hi ,my x type 2.0L diesel started to stall if i rev it over 3000 revs and then the glow plug would flash when i started it up again.i changed the diesel filter but made no difference ,Ive been told its injectors ,can i replace them with second hand ones or do they need to be re coded ,its done 150k but all ways run well before this problem,any advise would be good ,thanks ray.

  After a long run my scenic with automatic transmission came to a halt with all warning dashboard lights glaring at me indicating stop . I had to be rescued by Green Flag who towed me to the nearest garage but will not be looked at till Monday.
• Ford Fiesta - 2011 Ford Zetec 1.25 engine hunting - light now on 24 May 2016 (Forum)
  Our 1.25 Zetec (2011) has done 33000 miles and following a recent Trust Ford service starting hunting. We run it on Shell V power as get better mpg.  The engine management light has now come on. Ford want £78+ VAT just for the diagnostic before doing any work. What are the points to check please before shelling out stupid money.

    There is no way that the water loss can be explained.  There is no high pressure in the pipes engine seems to run well, no smoke from the back.   Very distressed as just bought it & just changed the oil. Can anyone help?  Thankyou

  The dealer is also a Suzuki dealer and I quite like the latest shape Swift as it looks funkier and drives better than the Micra, with similar running costs and five doors. Anyone rekon it would be worth moving across to Suzuki as I know plenty of people who enjoy driving them and they seem reliable enough?
• Audi A3 TDI 170 - Poor Starting 1 Feb 2016 (Forum)
  I have one of these that has intermittant poor starting. It will fire then stop when the key is released. On the second go it will fire then run rough for a few seconds. For the rest of the day the car will be fine. At other times it is o.k.. The car has been back to the dealers for many weeks and has loads of work done. Without going into too much detail about what has been done, has anybody had similar problems?

  Hi,can anyone tell me where the primer pump is on a picasso c3 ('60') the owners book states its under a cover on top of engine by the filter,i cannot find it at all.I have a felt type cover on the top with two rubber grommets holding it on and once removed there is no sign of a priming bulb or the like.I only need to know for future reference in case of running out of fuel. if its any help the engine is a SH9HPO TYPE DIESEL. thanx gary

  I was thinking of getting OSRAM cool blue intense (fully road legal) I believe that the fitting is H4 but i've heard that this is not the case because this car has projection headlights and no upgrade bulbs are available? The car also has LED daytime running lights built into the headlight unit as standard. Help appreciated thanks.

  Hi there I see there a few threads stating the problems people are having wih the eac fail in the duratec engined ford fiesta. I replaced the MAF sensor, with no difference. I can not afford to run up and down to the dealerships to find answers. Was there a solution besides replacing every electronic part or no? Thanks in advance all the way from South africa!   Had engine malfunction warning popping up for a month or two now. No other effects - car running fine. Got round to getting the codes read. Lots of spurious ones apparently. 29. Things like brake light bulb and ABS - nothing wrong with either. MEchanic says known problem with speedo and ECU.

  Just been told one of my Alloys is cracked, BMW did a run out test (0.7mm) and no visual impact damage. Have been told as it is not the style (225) that had a problem with cracking they won't have anything to do with it. My wheels are the 19" 313 style and only done 24000 miles I am surprised by BMW's it's your problem not ours attitude.

  I am not losing oil - I've just done my usual daily 40 mile commute -  and the engine seems to be running at normal temperature. Though there is a slight smell of oil. Should I be concerned?

  My 2004 1.9 DCI has started to sound like tractor when first started in the morning also has started to have poor MPG. Have changed Oil&Filter and air filter at regular intervals. Once warmed up it runs fine for the day, but strugles to do 40mpg when it used to average 50ish. Help would be much appreciated.

  Hi all, I have realized a strange noise coming from the engine bay. This happens only when I run the car in the morning, so let say when it is cold. I don't hear it during the rest of the day. • Nissan Primera 1997 gearbox 7 Mar 2015 (Forum)
  The gearbox is now getting stiff to engage 2nd gear when the car has been standing for some time (e.g. overnight) but is much better after a few miles run. It is time for a new gearbox or is there another solution? The problem seems to have slowly become worse over the last three months. Engaging 3rd, 4th and 5th is OK at any time. Any suggestions of who might be able to fix it?

  I had tried to 'bleed it' as suggested on another thread by overfilling, turning to almost full lock, running engine etc and then test drive. This didn't solve anything as it is still gushing out the top of the cap. All thoughts, advice welcome!

  But it has done 102k miles on a 09/58 plate, that wouldn't be a problem if it had FSH, but it only has 2 stamps. I'm concerned that this might be a problem for the turbo, even though it's VW running gear which suggests its pretty robust. Any advice is appreciated, anything else I should look for on it?   Thanks

  Hello, Could some body help identify the solenoid looking part in the centre of this picture please.. its making a loud ticking noise which you can feel if you hold your finger on it. The car also runs very flat up hills and the turbo appears to not always boost on a flat road and never up a hill.   Can someone help me when i start my car it has slight rattle ,then it stops the car seems to run ok but i need to fix it as i am hoping to sell , there is a post on here about a vectra vvt with simailar problem and they mentioned valve timing gears and selenoids , but am not sure wether my engine is the same my engine is Z18XER any help would be appreciated Many Thanks

  Hi, my daughter is thinking of buying a vw golf diesel. But her journeys are mostly about 12-15 miles each way. I know everyone says you need a long run to keep the dpf clean but is it a long journey or the engine temperature that determines if a dpf is kept clean. She does these trips in rush hour and normally takes about 45 mins, i wondered if this would be enough to warrant a diesel or stay with a petrol.
