Galaxy VW V6 HT lead shock 21 Feb 2005 (Forum)
The first shock was the price, the second the amount of hassle/sweat involved in fitting the new leads. Car was misfiring, sprayed water on leads in the dark and noticed some arcing near the leads. After a couple of hours, starting from left to right managed to change 2 leads on the inlet manifold side. -
sainsbury's lead replacement petrol 24 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Sainsbury's lead replacement petrol is 97 octane and only 2p more than 95 lead free. Could this be a poor man's Optimax ? After all Optimax is only 98 octane. No other retailer sells lead replacement for such a low price. is is OK for cars that need lead free ? -

Alfa TS HT leads 1 Apr 2001 (Forum)
Does anyone know if there's an independent supplier of aftermarket leads? Alfa tells me that the HT leads are matched to the main coil, which I find difficult to believe, could this be correct? I'm more than happy to buy individual leads, even at Alfa mark-up prices, but I really don't want to shell out £500 for a couple of HT leads! -
Copper Core or Resistive HT Leads ? 12 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Hello All, Just got a quote from Audi and I was shocked to say the least (not really !! ) at the price for a set of ignition leads for my car, £25.40 + vat per lead x6 (A4 2.4 V6). I've had a good google and I can get a set of resistive leads for £40 delivered or a set of copper core leads for £76 delivered (still dear ! ). I'm guessing that resistive leads do not generate as good a spark ? -

HT lead connection 9 Sep 2002 (Forum)
My HT leads are connected to the spark plug connecter via a screw in the plug cal and a nut in the HT lead. I cannot find a supplier in the UK. Can you help? -
Omega HT Leads 26 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Hi, Is there a 'real' reason why HT leads for the Omega should cost so much (As you may know they are manufactured in 2 sets of 3 leads, each set costing £75, ex VAT, thereby incurring a total cost of £176.25 incl VAT to replace the 6 leads). -
Ford Fiesta (2000 - 2002) - 00 1.25 Running rough: no spark at No. 4 coil pack 20 Oct 2009 (Forum)
No spark at No. 4 lead from coil pack, when I lift off the plug lead at the coil pack end. Swapped plug lead 4 with 1, runs even more rough, (i dont have a spare lead to go to No. 1.) Put spare plug into No. 4 lead and held spare plug onto block, no spark (This sparked OK on No. 1 plug lead end). -

VW Golf Mk2, new spark plug (HT) Leads? 9 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Hi All I have a Mk 2 VW Golf 1300 81,000 miles. The spark plug (HT) Leads are the original set. Is there a set time to replace spark plug (HT) Leads? Do new leads increase engine efficiency? The engine sounds fine, i.e. the ignition timing is alright. Thanks -
Plug Leads exploding 2 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Has anybody experienced exploding plug leads and resulting small engine fire which I had on my Audi Coupe- luckily at slow speed and blown out! This serves as a warning to renew leads of unknown age? -
Vauxhall Omega (1994 - 2003) - 96 2.5 Replacing HT leads 30 Aug 2009 (Forum)
So bear with my simple question. Does the old HT lead pull off the dis unit and is the new lead a push fit and just pushed on similarily to the lead being pushed on to the spark plug . I plan to take off the scuttle will this let me see the dis unit. -

Does anyone know where I could buy HT leads over the net? Thanks. -
Jump leads advice wanted 7 Jan 2002 (Forum)
A well-know high street motorists' store is advertising in their winter advertising leaflet a lead with a cigar lighter plug on each end which is supposed to be used instead of jump leads to start a car with a flat battery from the cigar lighter socket in each car. Compared to jump leads this device hardly looks man enough for the job when one considers the power needed to turn over an engine. -
Mondeo HT leads 15 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Just changed the plugs in my Mondeo (2000W), and want to check the HT leads are ok as the car has now covered 103k miles. Is it possible to do this by measuring their resistance with a common multi-meter? If so, what value should a lead not exceed if it is in good condition?
