  i  recently had a problem with my pug 306 (it wouldnt start), i changed wiring loom but that didnt solve the problem, i then got an open ecu which bypassed the immobilizer, the car now runs but  wont rev above 3000rpm. also sometimes when i turn the key on i get a horrible noise from the fuel filter housing. could it be a wire i missed out or something?

  Have just noticed that when locking my A4 Avant I no longer get the indicator flash to confirm, also for quite a while now the lock on the fuel filler hasn't worked. everything else seems to work as it should. Are the two connected? ie the ECU is recognising that the flap isn't locked therefore no confirmation flash? Anyone any idea on the fix and/or the cause, Is it as simple as just the actuator? Thanks!

  i have had it pluged in twice and they say there are no fault codes. it say's intermittent starting blocked ecu! please help its driving me mad!!!
• Citroen C3 Pluriel - Power steering fail 29 Jul 2012 (Forum)
  Was running fine, til Fri when power steering was jumpy. Got it towed to Citroen dealer for diagnostics and they called thar evening to say ECU and steering rack need replacing at a cost of 2800, which is only slightly less than car is worth. Is it worth asking Citroen to contribute? Could I get it done elsewhere with cheaper parts. Any advice welcome Thanks

  Anti pollution warning keeps coming up - had it diagnosed, additive delivery system faulty, additive level low - (except it aint).  Undocumented error in ECU, also have cooling fault code. The undocumented error is the EGR valve which I have now blanked off, car ran fine for 2 days, fault now back - limped home mode - no turbo HELP please....

  car is 2l turbo, ran out of petrol recently and is now not starting, was blowing black air at frirst then running fine but only for max 7 mins. car has been in autoshop since last thursday, said was fuel pump £600, said i'd outsource it and now says that he can reprogram the original fuel pumps ecu for 350 and that should work?  is this true can reprograming the original save buying a new 1? lot of money if it dont work, thanks

  Hi Guys   Nice quick one for you - 03 Fiesta, 1.4 zetec, 66k. Ecu light on, scan shows code "P0444 - Evaporative emission system purge control valve - circuit open"   Reset it, and it stays out for at least 10 miles. Anyone had dealings with this before - i presume the code refers to a carbon canister - and the purge valve either being pooped, or a broken wire etc ???

  can anyone tell me if the bottom ends are the same as i was just going to put the 2003 bottom end on the spi top end rather than changing wiring loom ecu's etc. many thanks

  Amongst many ongoing ECU/Limp mode problems my most concerning is this: The brakes are often a bit jammed when starting a journey with a little jolt sensed as you move off. As well as this the brake pedal is hard and much less effective for a few minutes and then returns to normal operation.

  hi, car just died on me and now when you turn the ignition on everything comes on but when you turn the key to start the engine nothing not even a click. the milage comes on for about a min or so then there is just dotted lines. does anyone think it could be the ecu and if so any idea how to get a second hand one reprogrammed? thanks john

  I've cleaned out the MAF and throttle body with carb cleaner, replaced the plugs and reset the ECU.  None of which has helped so far.
• Nissan Micra K11 - Engine management light: main dealer only? 10 Aug 2010 (Forum)
  Car starts and drives OK. Is this potentially serious? I suppose I will need to read the ECU code somehow. Is this a main dealer only job, or will a backstreet garage be able to do this? Given the age, mileage and bodywork of the car, I'm not keen on paying main dealer prices. Thanks, Mike

  Aswell as the car not starting, the central locking, trip meter, harzard light button, stereo and fuel/speed gauge and ECU etc there was no problem found and the car still does not start. Does any one have any ideas about this??????

  hi,I have been told I need a new ECU at a cost of £850,no fault codes found but warning light came on and car was sluggish (losing power but still driveable-ish) cleared all old codes memory to see if that would work but fault light came back on and old codes are all reloaded...........................................................is this the likely cause or could there be some other reason .......................any help appreciated as need to decide whether to fix or sc***

  I have tested the feed and there is 12v all the time. If i leave the supply to the relay off my battery does not discharge. Does the ECU control the relay and if so can i reset to see if this clears the fault?? Hope someone can help. cheers Keith.

  On both occasions the car did eventually start as normal. Would this be a piston ring problem? Or something simple in the ECU? Or something else? Thanks..

  my car seems to run fine if left overnight but on occasions when when left for a few hours after my first trip the engine will start running idling rough . Almost feels like the ECU may be running in limp mode . I kinda ruled out HT leads and plugs because it starts ok and runs ok first thing in the morning . any ideas would be helpful cheers

  The windows themselves still work fine, but the second stage of the switch that would normally take the window right down or up no longer does anything. Is this an ECU reset by a dealer or something I can quickly sort myself ?
