  62,000 miles fine,no problems.smoke on excelleration.remedy,just had " Teraclean " treatment to engine . result no more smoke.very reliable car . regular servicing and a bit of high speed driving to clean the system seems to keep it running ok . would recomend one to anyone. dave dl

  A closer look, and  i see water pumping out of the right side of the front of the engine block when the engine is running. Can't see if it's from the gasket but does look lower than that. Water seems to be clear.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.   Cheers

  The car has always taken a long time to warm up but now it only gets half way up the guage unless it sits in traffic just ticking over when it goes up to "normal" at the top of the guage. If the engine does not get up to normal running temperature will this effect the emissions readings at the MOT?

  Hi First post We have a 2004 X trial, which has had new water pump, themostat, radiator cap, and head gasket, carbon test shows clear Bottom hose takes a long time to heat up, heater blows warm on a run, but cools down when idling Any suggestion please

  With the price of petrol where it is, and rising, I am thinking of having my engine cleaned internally by this "System".  Reports seem to be favourable, in the main, mentioning improved consumption and smoother running ie all the thjings you hear  about additives and other snake oil! Has anyone had this work done and what do they think of its benefits, if any?

  I wash my motor with a bucket of water and sponge with a cap full of car shampoo in it, rinse and dry with a chamois, and have used turtle wax in the past, but this has now run out. Cheers, B01
• Hyundai i10 - Engine cutting out 2 Dec 2013 (Forum)
  A friend has a 13 reg Hyundai i10 with an engine that cuts out.  When switched off and on again and it restarts and runs without problems for a couple of weeks and then plays up again.  The owner has taken the car to the dealer who says that there is nothing wrong with the car and it must be down to the driver.  The driver has been driving fore 30 years now and has never before had any problems.

  hi when my car starts from cold it has black smoke from exhaust which does fade when warm .ive noticed a popping noise like sucking air from engin aswell.it dosent overheat but smells like burning rubber when driving and the engin feels hot if taken on long run the tempreture goes from half way down to quarter any thoughts many thanks...it has 139.000 on clock

  I notice that the first VAG DSG gearboxes are now out of warranty, so people are starting to run them on their own budgets. Now that the Volkswagen/Audi DSG gearbox has been out a few years, does anyone have an informed opinion on reliability? What about owners - how many of you have had problems?

  Its all to do with the ignition key. You can remove the key and the van will still run. To remove the key correctly push in the button next to the barrel and turn the key towards you as far as it will go. Then turn away from you once. The key should line up with a small mark on the barrel.

  some 6 dignostics all show same result that the fuel air mix is lean. On correction car runs for approx 20 miles with no warning light and then it comes on again. Both relevant Bosch sensors have been replaced and the catalytic converter cleaned. No difference to petrol consumption and the garage confirms no adverse effect on performance.

  Hi. I was driving my car home lastnight when sitting at some traffic lights the car started running erratic. The rev counter was going up to 2000 revs then dropping down to 1000, then dropped right under till it nearly stopped.! This happened all the way home , had a look but couldn't see anything visible i.e throttle cable sticking.

  At 6ft2in I found the seat tight without the seat height adjuster only available on the Laureate which begins at £8K... plenty of headroom... car runs nicely and "feels" sure-footed in contrast to some comments I have read... so if you are interested in a simple car without black boxes or stuff you never need then make sure you can get comfortable behind the wheel before you do an impression of Borat...

  On my last oil change I used ACEA A3/B4 AFI SL CF -  is this  okay ? The car has covered 107 000 miles about runs well - on tick over it sounds as sweet as a nut !! If I lift the oil filler cap the oil still looks very clean, even thought it was changed June 2012 Many Thanks Mark 193

  hi there i just survices my car and changed the coolant on it and when to run the car up and the fan kicks in and the temp gauge gose to red and no coolant is leaving the expansion tank i undone the bleed nippal at the bottom of the rad to see if the is water in there and there was so i toke the top hose off and no water come out so i checked the thermosat houseing and no water has pasted thought so can any 1 help thanks

  We have a 55 plate current shape 1.9PD Leon with 68k on the clock. Runs fine except when it comes to hot starting. It can take 4-5 seconds of cranking to get it to fire. When it does it starts with a substantial jolt. This happens on every hot start. Cold or part warm starts are fine.

  It has been to the garage and had the rocker cover seal replaced. They reported no other problems. The car is very reliable, I often do runs of 500 miles, getting >38mpg. The only thing I need to do is fill up with oil. Any ideas please
