Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 00 2.0 Changing Front Foglight bulbs 3 Feb 2010 (Forum)
I have a W reg (2000) 306 HDI Estate, which was originally an import. The front fogs are circular and seated in a circular moulding within the black plastic grill beneath the bumper. Both bulbs have gone and I could do with the extra illumination at this time of year, I have had a look, but can't see an obvious way to change the bulbs without some serious disassembly - could someone point me in the right direction please? -
Who sells "New Old Stock" cars? 1 Sep 2009 (Forum)

(alfatrike means 'New Old Stock' cars) Changed in subject line -
Mitsubishi Shogun/Pajero (1991 - 1999) - 94 2.8 Engine cuts out 14 May 2008 (Forum)
I have an imported Pajero 2.8 LWB that runs fine when warm but when starting from cold the engine cuts out after a few hundred yards, if I keep the key turned or leave it for 5-10 mins it will eventually start, it will sometimes do this again before I can drive away and then it will give no problems all day. -
Triumph TR4 - looking for a boot rack 17 Dec 2006 (Forum)
I have just aquired a Triumph TR4 which is an american import. The boot lid has 4 holes drilled in it to accomodate a boot rack. The centers of the holes are 24" side to side and 16 3/4" front to back. The TR4 boot racks that are available at the Triumph stockists fit to the boot hinge and to the number plate and are not suitable. -
Saw my first 300c 21 Jun 2006 (Forum)
It looks even bigger in the flesh (if you know what I mean). I must admit, I don't really approve of imported Chryslers after the way they shut the UK and mainland Europe plants down all those years back, but maybe I've just got a long memory. Anyway it's certainly some motor. Les -
Replacing lap belt with a 3 point belt? 17 Jun 2006 (Forum)
I'm sure it can be done, I think the real would have to be bolted to the boot floor, but does it need a top support, or can it just run over the top of the seat? Saftey is of course the most important point, as at some point in the next year or two my two yongest will outgrow their group 1 car seats so I will need a proper belt. Also what would be a fair price for the conversion? -
Ford Zetec engines: oil 7 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Do I take it that the key to this is the 5W and not the 30, so that flow is easier when the engine is cold? Or is the 30 equally important, such that 5W-40 would be bad for the engine, being thicker when hot? And what about the possible effects of using 0W-30 and 0W-40? The word "correct" notwithstanding, I'm interested in any other angles on this issue too. -
Volvo V50 - opinions please 20 May 2006 (Forum)
I've read HJ's comments and a couple of on-line reviews, one of which criticises it for noise and lack of space in back seat/boot, allo of which are quite important to me. Does it use the Ford diesel engine, and is it relaible? Any thoughts etc much appreciated. Cheers Pat -

Dealer Stories 26 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Ford - a) forgets to put the undertray back on b) fails to plug an air regulator hose back in, giving the car erratic idle and rough peformance c) takes two days to do the work d) leaves the car dirty (they could have at least cleaned it with all that spare time) e) went back twice before they admitted and put the undertray back on (a recent visit to an inderpendent dealer told they had done this incorrectly) Is it just Ford or are all dealers this bad? (Please give opinion as customer service is important for new car) Anyone got a story that bad? -
Dealing with a "car finder" 1 May 2005 (Forum)

Parts problem & cancelling order 1 Mar 2005 (Forum)
I have had an aircon pressure switch on order for my skyline with the local nissan dealer since October of last year. In their terms it says orders for imports are non refundable. Does this mean I have to wait forever for the part to arrive or lose the money I have already paid (the contract forces you to pay upfront)? I want to cancel the order and try Middlehurst nissan or an independent as I really need to get hold of this part and I am sick of waiting. -
Can I insist on watching? 10 Feb 2005 (Forum)
One aspect of this is that it must have VAG oil 506.01. Since the car and the oil and the resetting of the computer are so important to me why should I just hand my car over and hope everything is done correctly? I plan to insist on watching as it is serviced. Anyone see any problems with this? Afterall we are no longer in the days of old when any old grease monkey could stick any old oil in and it had no consequences are we? -
Best second hand car for under £3k 28 Nov 2004 (Forum)
She'd like another 3 door with a bit more oomph (1.3/1.4) around about the £3000 mark. Reliability and looks are important. What options does she have regarding make/model. She was quite interested in the Saxo but I've heard that they aren't the most reliable of makes. (Micra is out..."can't stand the look of it"). -

Clio - brake fluid in coolant! 5 Jun 2004 (Forum)
My question on their behalf is what kind of damage will this have done? The car is a 3 year old, 13,000 miles, Clio 1.6 16v petrol (import). It hasn't given any problems at all even since this "incident" which I find strange but I'm no expert. Thanks very much in anticipation. -
Clocks 5 Jun 2003 (Forum)
I thought it might be my computer's clock but it seems fine. I know also that the post time is not the most important thing in life but I'm curious nonetheless. Splodgeface -
V5 Car Description 8 May 2003 (Forum)
I have an imported Alfa 156 and the description of the car model is not 156, but twin axle saloon or something, I sent the V5 back to the DVLA explaining that I expected the model to be a 156 Veloce thinking that they had translated the model badly from the certificate of conformity or something, but they sent my V5 back saying I should get a letter from Alfa UK stating that the correct descritpion of my car is 156 not twin axle saloon.. surely all 156's have a sensible description of the model on the V5 and i am not being silly wanting mine to say 156?? -
irish registration mark 16 Feb 2003 (Forum)

When is the MOT due? 16 Feb 2003 (Forum)
The date of first registration is recorded as 01/12/2002 (the date of first registration in the UK) but there is a note at the top of the V5 noting that the car was first used/registered/built in 2000 (it's an Eire import), but no specific date. Now this could mean I have to MOT immediately, assuming first date of use as 01/01/2000 OR I can leave it until 31/12/2000 OR I can leave it until 01/12/2005 Help?
