    Ends Hybrid-powered cars have CO 2 outputs ranging from 89g/km to 219g/km, yet all are exempt from the London Congestion Charge.  Volvo's S40 1.6D DRIVe with Start/Stop technology emits just 104g/km yet drivers are charged £8.00 to enter the capital. Similarly, Volvo's DRIVe C30 SportsCoupe and V50 Sportswagon models also emit 104g/km but none of them are exempt from the charge.

    Plus there were epic battles between Jimmy McRae and Russell Brookes in identical Manta 400s as they fought it out for the British Open Rally Championship This road-going Manta 400 enjoyed a more sedate life, watching rather than partaking in rallies - but it was converted by a Vauxhall dealer to right-hand drive. In 2005, after nearly four decades asleep, the car changed hands and was restored. Almost every part of the car was stripped, sandblasted and powder coated.

    Offered for public sale for the first time at Silverstone Auctions on 21 October, the German sports car is estimated to fetch £100,000 to £120,000. The original, duck-tailed, right-hand drive 2.7 Carrera MFI, one of 1011 examples made in 1974, was bought by David Pattison of PCT Porsche Specialists in 1982, having been originally supplied to the UK through Malaya garage in Sussex in January 1974.

  • Restored Volkswagen Samba campervan to go under the hammer 22 May 2017 (News)
    The camper, which has been restored, is part of the Classic Car Auctions sale in Warwickshire on 10 June. The right hand drive, manual example is believed to be one of just a handful on UK roads and looks like it has just rolled off the line at the German factory. Originally dispatched to South Africa, the camper spent the first four decades of its life in warmer climes before being imported into the UK.
  • One-owner low-mileage Porsche 911 Speedster for sale 20 Apr 2017 (News)
    A factory-built right-hand drive Porsche 911 Speedster is going under the hammer. The car, which is one of 139 made, is part of Silverstone Auctions’ sale on 13 May. The 911 Speedster was first produced in 1989 by Porsche to celebrate the timeless design of its original 356 Speedster from the late 1950s.
  • Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: New BMW X1 launched 15 Sep 2015 (News)
    .  The all-new model is more SUV and less crossover than the original with an increased height and styling that follows on from the latest X3. Interestingly it also uses the same front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive platform as the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. BMW is promising an improvement in ride comfort - one of the main criticisms of the outgoing model - while 10mm lower M Sport suspension is available as an option complete with firmer springs.
  • British classics lead the way at NEC Classic Motor Show auction 16 Nov 2014 (News)
    The car of the day was superb 1994 Jaguar XJ220, which raised a fitting £220,000. The right-hand drive supercar was formerly owned by the Brunei Royal Family who placed the factory order in 1991. The car has covered just 6000 miles. As a result, the 530bhp Jaguar, capable of 217mph, was subject to frantic bids as potential suitors fought it out for the XJ220’s ownership.
  • 21 Year Old Land Cruiser Drives 4,600 Miles Kabul to Goodwood 17 Jul 2014 (News)
    A 1993 Classic Toyota Land Cruiser J70 has driven 4,600 miles from Kabul in Afghanistan to Goodwood House to raise £22,000 for Mission Motorsport.
