• Citroen C3 diesel exclusive - warning lights on dashboard 12 Feb 2016 (Forum)
  My C3 is now about 13 years old and has been running well.  Now I find that the engine computer warning light comes on intermittently, particularly when cold or driving slowly. Also, there is a vertical line of orange lights on the left hand side of the display that normally come on one by one until 3 are illuminated as the car warms up.

  Car driving ok otherwise, not pulling significantly. Only done 30k so guessing I've damaged something when running over debris. Open to suggestions on what could have happened? Cheers Lisa

  The car has done 149,00 and returns around 50 mpg on a run provided I do not go much over 60mph. For the past few months it has developed a judder, initially at around 60mph, now at most speeds.  I have had the drive shafts changed twice using re-conditioned ones, the prop shaft has been disconnected to check that the problem only relates to the front of the vehicle, the oil in the transfer box has been changed, the wheels re-balanced all round and new tyres fitted on front, but the car still has awful judder particularly when accelerating.

  car run fine until friday. went to start it on saturday it started then cut out straight away done this twice. then would not start again. car turns over tries to start but wont. was told it was the glow plugs changed them car still wont start. aa recovery called monday pluged it into diagnostic and told me the fuel was not getting to the injectors. he sprayed easy start into car it started then cut out. aa man said it was the lift pump in the tank. took car to local garage got a new lift pump fitted still does not start. was told it was an electrical fault i am in liverpool and cant get a mobile auto electrician to come out. any advice would be gratefully accepted at this time because i need car for work as i start early in the morning and its too cold to walk thanks.

  I drove it to the store about 5 miles that morning came home got back in it 3 hours later and it just cranks but, will not start. Fuel is pumping good. The car was running smooth without an problems or knocking etc. I also had it serviced oil changes etc 3 weeks prior and also put new spark plugs in. I plugged in code reader and got the P0011 code regarding cam shaft position forward.

  I am now on the 4th fuse box unit, it's the one beside the battery and it's the same terminal that melts each time where the lead runs in from the alternator. Ford replaced the first one as it was under warranty but that went 9 months later last November and I've just replaced it again. Ford - and VW apparently - claim there isn't a problem but something must be causing it to overheat.

  Hi, I am new to the forum and have a problem with my Ford Bantam LDV. It has the Endura DE diesel motor and was running nicely when all of a sudden it became sluggish to start. I replaced the fuel lines to ensure that there is no air in the system, and also replaced the glow plugs. The motor then fired up immediately, but I then saw on a voltmeter that I had fitted on the glow plugs lead that the glow plugs do not switch off, and that the wiring to the glow plugs is getting very hot and starting to melt the insulation!

  I know we have a thread running on the issue of VAG fiddling emissions but this is a question about whether or not you would buy a VAG car in the future. Personally, trust in an organisation is important to me and I would probably not buy a VAG car for at least 5 years until I saw that they had got their act together.
• Peugeot Boxer Sevel X250 2.2l - Bad starting 7 May 2015 (Forum)
  However, it has now become very difficult to even get it to fire. But when I eventually get it going it runs absolutely perfectly. However, the engine management light stays on for a while. One thing that I have noticed, and I think that it's significant, is that when it is difficult to start it is parked on my drive with a very slight uphill gradient.

  hi all   since i've had it it's alway been a bit lumpy when 1st started, so usual injector issue. but if anything it's been slightly better recently. it's covered 115k   i came to my car last night after being parked for 10 hours and it initially started, but it didn't sound right, (not the usual injector issue) it was running but just didn't sound right. i tried to rev it but it didn't do anything. i can't remember if i stopped it or it stopped itself after a few seconds. tried starting it a few more times but it wouldn't fire, it was turning over fine. i don't remember seeing the engine light on, but it was getting late!

  .) * must be manual 'box * under £7k My initial trawls have met with mostly disdain - • Hyundai Santa Fe (too big) • Suberu Impreza (death on wheels) • Audi (she hates the badge) • Freelander (too slow, too small inside, dear to run) • Skoda Octavia / Scout (I will look like a geography teacher in the minor counties) If it were mine, I'd find a Mazda 6 MPS, or a Golf R32 - but there's the rub. Any suggestions before we give up and get a Kuga/ Tiguan *dies slightly inside* Many thanks in advance :)

  I have only basic knowledge of what to look out for having only really driven a Citreon DS3 1.6 litre diesel, therefore I was hoping for some advice here. I am interested in two cars, both only 1 year old, reasonably cheap to run and with low mileage: a Hyundai i10 1.2 litre 4 cylinder car and a Peugeot 108 1 litre 3 cylinder. The Peugeot is somewhat cheaper despite being almost new, but from what I understand it is not rated as highly as the Hyundai.

  I recently bought a one year old Ford Cmax Titanium X from my local Ford dealership and have been unable to resolve a problem of misting headlights. They mist up after a run if the car is parked in rain or is washed, or it’s a cold day. It seems that moisture in the units evaporates when the car is in use and then condenses on the cold surface of the lens.   The dealer was persuaded to change the units under warranty, I’m told they were swapped from another new car, but this has not resolved the problem.

  So I'm having a little trouble with my 1.8 Petrol Nissan Almera Tino, hoping someone can help out. Bought the car in 06/2014, and it's been running smoothly until last Friday... Drove for about 10 mins, went up a hill and car started shaking and lost all power, came back to life very quickly and therefore thought nothing of it. Drove on for 20 mins no issue, 10 mins into return journey same thing happens.

  Can anyone please help i have had this strange engine noise on my vectra b 1999 diesel 140k   You tube video: Watch "Vectra b diesel 99 140k" on YouTube Vectra b diesel 99 140k: http://youtu.be/Ek4hz2bvIeo   Recent replacement parts: Egr valve and inlet manifold cleaned and replaced, cleaned boost pressure switch, all new filters and oil, runs well starts fine, eml on for a minute on start up then extinguishes, turbo works fine and engine revs fine noise had been there a long time but would just like to no what it could be   Please note noise seems to come from near fan belt side of engine(engine fitted with a cam chain)  Air con has not worked for a while could be compressor?

  Should it settle down with use? Its only done about 50 miles on it so far. Starts perfectly, runs well, just get the whine when its warm. Any advice? Thanks in advance

  Previous to that was an LDV Pilot with roller back door and front sliding doors which was ok for local runs.Have a year 2000 Pilot ,bought to do up,but that`s probably not going to happen,as the rust weevils will probably get to it first .Would probably prefer a van that size, but it would cost a lot more to run I expect? Any sound advise appreciated,thanks.

  I'm pretty used to our cruddy roads and poor maintenance but the roadworks on the western bypass (Gateshead) were an eye-opener. The road surface is disgraceful - a trench runs along where they hacked out the old edge strip, which means you're constantly fighting the steering (and we're talking about 30mph speeds) all the time, or trying to keep your wheel out of the rut by driving very close to the outer edge.

  Hi,   I have recently bought a 05 Mondeo Auto 110K  I have noticed while towing I am getting a lot of shudder in the car  ( like running over cattle grid/ or about to stall) when towing the car. It seems to be around 55mph, Revs just under 2000mph.  It happens occasionally when driving the car normally. When changing from D to P with the engine on, there is a vibration on the stick but nothing like the shudder when driving.
