Mazda 323 - Mazda 323 P0421 11 Mar 2016 (Forum)
Hi All, I picked up a '03 Reg 2.0L Mazda 323 last week. it had no issues at the time but around 100 miles later it popped up an error code (believe P0038). I cleared it and asked the old owner who said he had the same thing, cleared and it had not returned since. it did not come back for another 50 miles when I cleared again. -

Hi guys, Sorry to bother. We have having some issues with wifey's Mazda 5 2.0 D that I thought I had solved but got a call today to say all is not well :( She was having some intermittent issues where the car would lose so much power.....even sustaining 30 mph was an issue. -
Mazda CX-5 - Mazda CX-5 - Petrol vs Diesel 2WD 6 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Hi Everyone. We are looking at the Mazda CX-5 currently as a family car. I'm looking at the engine options- 2.0L 165HP Petrol vs 2.2 150HP Diesel (Both 2 wheel drive) I'm unsure about which engine option will suit us best and would welcome any input the community has. -
Honda Jazz, Toyota Auris, Mazda 3 - Cars on my shortlist 19 Sep 2010 (Forum)
Also I like the ergonomics and the aluminium effect dash and semi digital instruments. ( May also consider a Yaris with the new 1.33 stop start engine). A bit more sporty and trendy than the Auris, I have a soft spot for the Mazda 3. Mazda are due to appoint a dealer in Workington and I am tempted as most Mazda owners love their cars performance, styling and reliability. Which age or type of 3 would I get for 7k? -
Mazda 626 - Mazda 626 93 V6 turn key, click-k-k-k under dash 2 Sep 2010 (Forum)
This happened occasionally over the years, but now regular. Mazda 626 93 V6. Factory 2096 alarm box under the dash (power lock disconnected). Wipac EP10 immobiliser. Turn key. Click-k-k-k-k-k under dash, whole car goes dead, no starter sound. -
Mazda 323 Timing Belt 6 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Hi all, Hope someone out there can give me some advice! I own a Mazda 323F Shiraz on a 99/T plate. It's running fine, no problems, I took it in recently for the 54k service (even though it's only done 46k) and I was told that the timing belt/tensioner change happens upon certain mileages with Mazda, rather than over a timescale. -
New TDI - VW, Mazda, Honda or Toyota 28 Jun 2004 (Forum)
The brief is to find a new 5 door hatch of the oil burning variety in which Leoness will transit herself and four paying passengers daily from home to work and back (70 miles round trip). Have narrowed the chioce on paper to MK V Golf (105 BHP), Mazda 3 (the most highly spec\'d of the four contenders), Honda Civic 1.7 TDI (offering best MPG on paper) or the Toyota Corolla T3. The Mazda 3 undercuts all on price, and tops the poll for standard equipment spec. -
Mazda 6 - 10 yr old car with FSH. Do I maintain with dealer? 8 Nov 2024 (Forum)
Hello, With some great advice off these forums, I bought a Mazda 6 in Jan this year. Really happy with it - all I have had to spend is £40 for a new roll bar. Servicing is coming up, and so far it has always had a main dealer service, until its last one at the second hand car dealers. -
Mazda 3 MPS - Car Rustproofing?worth it for £600? 21 Jun 2020 (Forum)
Just ended up buying a 10 year old Mazda 3MPS car which is brilliant with 70,000 miles on the clock however the undersurface of the car has some significant rust patches. Phoned a rustproofing outfit who advises that it would cost about £600 for the work! -
Mazda 2 - Chirping/cricket like sound 22 May 2017 (Forum)
Evening guys, I've recently passed my test and inherited the wife's 2008 Mazda 2. Unfortunately the car's developed an intermittent chirping/cricket like sound that's driving me mad. It only happens at approx 30mph, 40mph and 50mph. Between those speeeds and over 50 there's no noise until I start slowing down whether by using the brake or just coming g off the accelerator, then the noise comes back as the needle passes 50, 40 and 30mph. -
Mazda 6 - Running Costs, Used Diesel vs Used Petrol 26 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Hello, I am about to buy a used Mazda 6 Estate as a family+dog run around and I am confused whether to go for a petrol or diesel variant... I will be keeping the car for approx 5 years and 40K miles... At the moment I return the "combined average MPG" for my current 406 diesel according to Autotrader's figures and my cars trip computer... -
Mazda MX5 - cambelt failure=no damage? 6 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I own a 1990 H UK Mazda MX5 1.6 which has done 30000 miles and has always been garaged, I have been asking my local dealers the highly technical (?) questions of whether: i) the cambelt needs replacing ii) the tensioner needs replacing iii) whether if the cambelt fails damage will result I have read elsewhere that the engine is 'non-interference' i.e. if the cambelt fails all that happens is the car breaks down and no damage is done to the valves etc... -
Mazda 626 (2002) 2.0 GXi SE petrol - Fuel nozzle problem 6 Jan 2012 (Forum)
When I filled the Mazda up at Sainsbury's, the nozzle wouldn't go into the neck of the tank. I tried 2 pumps and both were the same. I could still fill it up but was strange having the nozzle resting against the neck rather than in it. -
03 mazda 6 2.0 diesel - Rear O/S brake sticking 14 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I've a 03 mazda 6 diesel. I noticed last week after a cold night the rear passenger brake was sticking and cooked after a 12 mile trip. Its sticking now on and off. We have a steep drive so the handbrake gets plenty of use. -

Mazda MPV (2000 - 2007) - 03 2.0D excessive oil use and possible causes? 14 Mar 2009 (Forum)
It only does short journeys, but the consumption still seems high - I am aware it is the same unit as the mazda 6 which has had a few issues (!) so wondered if high oil use is a symptom of things to come.....? thanks, Rosco -
Mazda - Glass's price - Is it of any use? 27 Dec 2007 (Forum)
We are positively shocked at the minute at what we are being offered for our Mazda Tribute (part-ex price). Our tribute has 35K and is A1 condition, 03 reg, serviced at main dealer since new). We have been offered 20 to 30% less than the Glass's price (which is already much lower than the Parker's) by 6 dealers (4 different makes). -
Mazda 323 (1998 - 2003) - Filter Wrench 21 Sep 2007 (Forum)
I'm looking to buy a filter wrench but really don't know which one to go for. I've got a swivel head one but I tried my level best to loosen the oil filter on my Mazda 323 TD last weekend without any luck. The oil filter is away from the front of the car and there's no way to do anything with it from the top and there's not enough room from the bottom either. Please let me know which one would you recommend from these or anything else if its not mentioned here! -
Oil smell Mazda 323 27 Jun 2006 (Forum)
I have a 1987 Mazda 323 1300. When I come to a stop at traffic lights etc, I get a smell of warm oil. It disappears quickly when you move away but happens everytime you come to a stop for any length of time. It goes when you turn the engine off, there is no oil dripping onto the ground where its parked and I steam cleaned the engine when I bought it to get rid of all the oil but this made no difference. -
Mazda 3 headlamp output 1 Jan 2006 (Forum)
does anyone find the intensity or focus of the beam of light from Mazda headlights to be very poor? If so what steps have you taken to rectify this. Am considering buying Osram Silverstars or similar good quality lamps, as I have in my other cars. I note however it states on the packaging "up to 50% more light on the road, depending on the vehicle".
