• Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - 97 2.0 16v holding back 18 Jul 2008 (Forum)
  hopefully someone can help, ive got a mk3 16v golf and on idle it seams to be misfiring, if i bring the revs up it clears until 3k, its the same when driving it as well, as soon as you get to 3k it holds back and splutters, ive changed the cap, arm, plugs and leads, any ideas would be great.

  Our daughters 'new' 106 cooling fan is always on while she is driving but the overheating light doesn't come on and the water level hasn't changed. Is this a fault? If so, what may cause it and how can we fix it? Hope someone can help. Many thanks

  hi son is in the armed forces and is off soon on a 6 month tour. meanwhile his car (civic type r) will be sat on the drive costing him money in insurance. i wondered if anyone knows if it is possible to insure the car in my name, insurance a lot cheaper for me. car is on a pcp with son registered keeper thanks in advance

  It is still there in second and third but seems to die out in the higher gears. I wondered about drive shafts but this is in a straight line not when turning? Any ideas where the problem could lie? Thanks.

  A few people recently have stopped me whilst driving along to inform me that my brake REVERSE lights are still on. This seems to be an intermittent snag and I was wondering if it could just be a sticky switch, if so does anyone know where it is and how I get to it?

  hi can any one help my 2001 306 hdi cuts out after about 5 mins of driving i have changed the pump in the tank the fuel pump relay the fuel pressure reg on the rail and it is still the same can any one help before i scrap it and buy a lada thanks

  I have a g reg 405,The problem is that when driving if i press the brake they work, but if i lift and press them again the peddle goes hard and i loose braking. I have bled the brakes and checked the servo with a vacuum gauge and it holds vacuum. I haven`t noticed any fluid loss Please help.

  i have a 96 delica, 2.8 td exeed. when started it will tick over with no problems, when i drive off it will cut out after about 200yds. it seems to be starved of diesel as it takes quite a bit to restart. this may hapen 2 or 3 times then it will run all day with no problems.

  But while gearbox is in neutral motor is going from 900 to 1000 rpm as it knows to repeat that. But during drive everything is OK.

  while driving my astra last weekend i came up a slip road and at the top it stopped and now will not start at all. i had a fault read 2yrs ago and it`s code came up as PO400 critical system malfunction2. could this be anything to do with it. also what does this code mean

  ford's new powershift gearbox, i have not seen any reviews of the new focus using the powershift gearbox and wondered if anyone out there has had a test drive using this configuration. what was your opinion of this setup. i have test driven the vag dsg setup in a leon tdi, which i was impressed with and was wondering if the ford system matched up. thanks

  i have a gremlin in my taxi i,m sure start engine central locking locks all by itself turn engine off c/locking unlocks by itself could be driving along central locking either locks or unlocks tried the disconnecting the battery still no difference any ideas on how to get rid of this gremlin?

  I have inherited an immaculate 1996 Polo 1.4CL with 18000 miles. The engine bay is almost like new, car drives beautifully, and has always been garaged. I don't think the cambelt has been changed. Should I get it done ASAP? Engine is AEX {year added to subject line - DD}

  I also moderated my speed and mananged to keep to about 60mph for about 100 miles in four bites and averaged just over 31mpg. Not bad when I usually get 15mpg for purely urban driving and an average of 20mpg around suburban Manchester.

  There is no further information about whaty exactly happened. However at 5pm the roads around Weybridge were chaotic, it took 40 mins to do a norm 5 min drive, and that is a good 6 miles from the scene , so it must have been serious. I was surprised to find no details or news on here - so B.R's please enlighten me as to what happened

  hi room , i recently developed a very loud whining noise in the car , seems to be road speed related , ive jacked up the car and i cant say there is any play in the wheel bearings, tight as drum/s in fact ....could it be a drive shaft letting go...any ideas appreciated...thanks zoo

  I have a citeron xantia 1.9 p reg turbo diesel.. but its on its last legs So need another run around dont care if its not a citeron and maybe a smaller engine might be cheaper anyway! Me and my hubby dont know much about cars ( he dosent drive) We live in the leicestershire area. We have a budget of about £500 Ta noclue.cm

  I have a 1992 Honda Prelude 2.0l and i feel it uses too much fuel. For £10 of fuel i get an average of 35 miles while driving about city centre. It also seems to lack power a little. Anyone any ideas if this is normal. If not any ideas how this could be solved? Could it be the ignition timing? Thanks
• Ford S-MAX (2006 - ) - (2006-) 2.5 turbo - Wipers configured for LHD 1 Feb 2008 (Forum)
  My S-Max (2.5 turbo petrol titanium) wipers seem to be on the wrong way round, configured for left hand drive. The longer one is on the passenger side and sprays water onto the drivers side windscreen on return to its resting position. Has anyone else come across this fault / design flaw? Can it be remedied?
