  Hi all, I am looking for some advice with regards to an 08 model Citroen C5 air con system. The air con was not working so I took it to an independent garage to have it checked and re-gassed. On checking the system they told me that a pipe coming from the condenser had split and had to be replaced but this was aluminum and had welded itself to the condenser and couldn't be removed, the condenser therefore also had to be replaced.

  Obviously the "thinking about it" had never got further than the thinking stage and I cannot believe that such penny-pinching by Citroen has never been addressed. Or maybe the replacement of tyres and rims and the subsequent fitting of "optional" anti-theft devices contributes to Citroen's profits to such an extent that they made a conscious decision to do nothing.

  This seems excessive to me  - on previous FWD care we've always had the back tyres last around twice as long as the front. To cut a long story  (and ongoing dialogue with Citroen) short - has anyone else got any experience of this, or the 'adjustments' that Citroen suggest might be possible and their outcome? I am getting the impression that tyre life of many modern cars is rather less than on older models, am I being unrealistic in expecting nearer 40K miles from the rear tyres?
