    It achieved sales of more than €2m. Taking place in the Mindeparken (or memorial park) in view of the Royal Palace, nearly 100 cars from Europe were for sale. Another Mercedes that caught buyers’ attention was a 1964 600, formally owned by travel tycoon, Simon Spies, sold for €140,630 - more than €20,000 over its lower estimate.

    A 1964 Aston Martin DB5 sold for just over half-a-million pounds at Bonhams’ sale at Bond Street on Sunday, 6 December. The car, which was originally owned by Johnnie Walker-heir and motor-racing figure Rob Walker, went for £516,700. The Aston was part of the Lancashire-based Gordon Willey Collection .

    A BMW M3 sold for £25,310 at Barons classic car auction on 15 September. The bright red 1988-registered E30 was imported to the UK from Germany in 1999. Coming with a bulging history folder jam packed with invoices, service booklets and receipts, the M3 had also been treated to a light restoration.
  • Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: Ford Focus RS to cost from £28,940 16 Sep 2015 (News)
    Ford announced last night that its new 2.3 litre 350PS all wheel drive Focus RS would go on sale from £28,940. The car gets from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and tops out at 165mph, eclipsing the new Honda Civic Type R. The 2.3 litre engine is basically the same as found in four cylinder versions of the Ford Mustang.
  • Austin rally celebrates the Seven's military history 31 Jan 2015 (News)
    Celebrating the Austin Seven’s military history will be the theme of this year’s national rally, with hundreds of examples expected to make the trip to the National Motor Musuem at Beaulieu on July 5. The car played a vital role military role. Between 1922 and 1939 some 290,000 examples were built and during the Second World War was employed on both British and German sides. In Britain, the car was extensively used for driver training and liason duties.

    The 1920s’ Renault retains its removable rear seats, which convert the Tourer into a pick-up. The car also features a full-length fabric roof. The Type NN Tourer carries a pre-sale estimate of £9000-£14,000 and is offered with an extensive history file. The Renault joins 150+ other classics in what will be Historics’ largest auction to date at Brooklands Museum, near Weybridge, on 7 June, with viewing the previous day.
