  Big surprise was £8,950 bid for a 63k mile 94L Mercedes 500CL coupe. Needless to say, that bid bought the car. While oddball of the day was a 53k mile 2000X Nissan Maxima QX 3.0V6 SE+ with absolutely everything on it. A hard car to price and the auctioneer decided that £7,900 just wasn’t enough.

  Plenty of money was being paid for most cars in the Fleet Sale at BCA Blackbushe today. Among the ex-daily rental stock, 2000X Ford Focus Zetecs with aircon and 13k to 14k miles were making £9,250. Similar mileage 2000X Mondeo 1.8 Zetecs were selling at around the £8,400 mark. 2000X Fiesta 1.2 Zetecs were around £6,000 and Ws around £250 cheaper.

  This 2001 BMW 530i SE Touring auto was a lot of car for £3,300, but it had done 171k miles. An 85k mile 03 reg KIA Sorento that hadn’t sold at its last couple of appearances went for £6,600, which looked cheap but, mileage adjusted, the book said £5,900.

  Two bank holidays, unseasonally sunny weather and continued economic gloom led BCA’s latest Pulse report to show that average used car sold values fell in April, with both volume sectors of fleet/lease and part-exchange vehicles experiencing price falls.  Sold volumes also declined month on month and conversions from provisional bids to sales fell dramatically.
