BCA Pulse Shows Auction Prices Rising 6 Jan 2009 (News)
According to BCA’s latest Pulse report, average used car values incrfeased for the second month running in December, but remain well behind where they were a year ago when the financial crisis was beginning to unfold. Used values appear to have stabilised in the second half of 2008, following large falls in value earlier in the year. -

Historic Rally Cars at Cholmondeley Pageant 17 Jun 2011 (News)
The 2011 Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (15-17 July; www.cpop.co.uk ), will play host to one of the UK's biggest gatherings of World Rally Championship cars this year. Over 30 rally cars will be at the Pageant, and all will be undertaking high-speed runs on the Pageant's brand new, purpose-built tarmac 'Rally Stage'. Crowds will get to see the cars reach speeds of over 100mph on the straights, and then drift in wild and spectacular fashion through the corners. -

Electric autonomous vehicle revealed: could replace petrol and diesel cars within five years 11 Feb 2020 (News)
The Motiv uses a 17.3kWh battery pack to power a 20kW electric motor. Officially, it can provide a five-hour continuous run time and a range of 62 miles. Charging takes 40 minutes (from 20 to 80 per cent), while the electric pod tops out at 40mph. Acceleration from 0 to 39mph takes five seconds. The platform also has the potential to be modified for different requirements - an extra seats could be fitted, for example, or space for a wheelchair. -

Ex-RAF Land Rover to get show debut 10 May 2018 (News)
Unlike army examples, early records of ex-RAF Land Rovers have been lost in time, so detailed information of allocations within the RAF from 1952 right up to the early 1960s are unknown, making an accurate restoration a tough task. To get it back on the road, the rear body section had to be removed while the running gear needed overhauling and repairing. The car also has the correct 1997cc ‘siamese two-litre’ engine fitted. The rebuilt gearbox is a military replacement. And a stainless petrol tank is now fitted, along with correct pattern side screens and doors. -
Senna’s GP-winning McClaren F1 car for sale at auction 7 Feb 2018 (News)
The team had ended its successful engine supply partnership with Honda and was due to use Peugeot engines in 1994. To tide them over, a last-minute deal had been struck with Cosworth to run their V8 HB powerplants. Senna was concerned that the V8 was no match for the Renault V10, which powered arch rival Alain Prost’s Williams. Senna struck a deal with McLaren on a race-by-race basis (a rumoured $1m for every start). -
