  • FIESTA 1.4 TDCI (2003) - RE - FUELLING 25 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Hi, I am having problems refuelling, i cannot fully depress trigger on the garage fuel pump without it cutting out and having to let th fuel  trickle into the car. I have fed a rubber pipe well into the spout to see if any blockages but there does not seem to be any....the hose does not reach the diesel in the tank.

  • Peugeot 106 (1991 - 2002) - Petrol station con? 25 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Is it possible to fit more than 45 litres of fuel into the tank of a 106? Its a 45 litre tank and we got over 48 litres of diesel in at the station today! It was only just on the red too! It just makes me think wether the petrol station pumps are callibrated correctly and are we getting ripped off even more with increasing fuel prices?
  • LPG - Good or Bad 1 Dec 2006 (Forum)
I do some 15/20k per year and thought of fitting LPG to my car. Is the benifits from this low cost fuel worth the savings and what problems could be expected. If as seen suggesting running half Gas/Petrol, then might as well run a diesel with the same fuel costs per year overall as Gas/Petrol. Your Comments ??

Just a quick one that has been bothering me for a while... Is there any difference between DERV fuel and diesel? What does DERV stand for? Sorry if this is really basic.
  • £4.5k, which family car to keep long term? 2 Dec 2015 (Forum)
Trouble is, I only average 10-12k max mileage, mostly local driving, 18 mile round trips. I really want a diesel, as I love the power delivery and fuel economy, but I am scared of buying because of the dreaded four (DMF, DPF, Injectors and Turbos). I really don’t fancy a gutless petrol that’s bad on fuel either.

  • Skoda Superb Estate, VW Passat Estate, - Diesel or Petrol Estate/MPV 14 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Plus, annual holiday invovles trips to sourthern france, so round trip of 3000 miles. Not sure about diesel or petrol. Have 2010 Fabia 1.2 TSi to trade in, very disapointed with fuel economy. Also , have a 1999 Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDi, which regularly achives 45mpg in town on short trips and 60mpg+ on motorway and still going well at 162K+ miles and so will be keeping this.
  • Clever Honda Engines 26 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Looks like the future is a bit brighter for diesels after those clever people at Honda have developed a next-generation diesel engine that reduces exhaust gas emissions to a level equal to a petrol engine. The new diesel engine employs a revolutionary NOx catalytic converter that enables a reduction in NOx emissions sufficient to meet stringent U.S.
  • Another 306 diesel problem 3 Jun 2005 (Forum)
After many hours of cuts, scrapes and dirt in my eyes I finally got to the stage where it was ready to start. But it wont start. It has the keypad immobiliser and I have swapped the diesel pumps over so that I am using the original one to avoid problems with the code that is stored. The problem is that there is no fuel getting past the stop solenoid. The pump is primed, there is diesel entering the pump and leaving the pump via the return to the tank, but none going to the injectors.

Investigation revealed that there was a fuel leak between the top of the fuel filter and main housing.
