  This car has had one previous Owner with a very low mileage on the clock. The tank had a fair amount of fuel and so there was no need to fill up, but later found that the tank cap was a lockable one with no keys provided. The resort was to get an "auto" locksmith and jimmy the cap open, which of course was reimbursed by the Dealership.

  It recently failed the MOT for the following reasons: Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects): Fuel pipe leaking excessively or a risk of fire filter pipe area (6.1.3 (b) (ii)) Repair immediately (major defects): Offside Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush excessively worn rear bush (5.3.4 (a) (i)) The garage quoted £200 plus labour to fix the suspension issue.

  Is there a way to try and get better MPG, I am just using normal Diesel at the pumps since i have read that modern cars don't really benefit from Fuel additives and this even includes Red X  engine cleaner .   On another note , Is the Red X DPF for use to to keep the filter clean or is it used if you have a blocked DPF as stated on the instructions.
