Retro Racing at Santa Pod on 1st July 6 Jun 2012 (News)
Cars, bikes, trucks, scooters, the lot. The big difference is that this event actually encourages you to take part, "run what ya brung", and give your cherished ride some beans. It's your big chance to get your car or bike on the dragstrip with full timing and performance print-outs. The track is also being used for round 3 of the Euro Sports Compact drag series, where some of the fastest modified cars in the country go head-to-head. -
New insurance saving tech from TomTom 8 Feb 2012 (News)
Young Marmalade runs a scheme that tracks driver behaviour, and now sat nav maker TomTom has paired up with Motaquote to introduce a similar system. The new ‘Fair Pay Insurance’ system rewards good driving with lower premiums. -

In 2012 Don will attempt the beat the world land speed record for electric vehicles in the car, with a top speed of more than 350mph in his sights. Don Wales said: “One day we’re going to run out of today’s fuels and electric is the future. I’ve felt strongly about this for over a decade and launched Bluebird Electric in the late 1990s. “I’m pleased that it’s now being taken seriously by the industry, and events such as EcoVelocity are an excellent way to showcase how far green technology has progressed.” -
MG Car Club Events Coming Up 21 Apr 2011 (News)
This will be for 1950 to 1965 GT and Sports cars complying with the specifications required by FIA Appendix K and running on Dunlop L, M and R Section Historic tyres. The race, using the Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone, is for one or two drivers, with a mandatory pit stop. The entry fee is £450. -

330,000 cars registered under Scrappage Scheme 9 Mar 2010 (News)
Petrol-engined cars were most popular for people buying with a scrappage incentive deal, with petrol making up 84% of sales against 58% for total UK cars sales during the period the Scrappage Incentive Scheme was running. The SMMT's chief executive Paul Everitt commented: 'The scrappage scheme has provided vital stimulus during a difficult period. The industry must now work to sustain this momentum and is urging the government to postpone the introduction of the first year rate of VED an avoid dampening demand while the economic recovery remains fragile.' -

Longevity remains Michelin’s prime attribute, usually meaning that the company’s slightly more expensive tyres cost less in the long run. Relatively low rolling resistance means they also save you money in fuel.
