    Here it was again locked away and stored in a warm dry garage for the next 15 years. The car still has the original factory fitted delivery and EPA stickers attached to the front windscreen.   • Paper tax discs to be phased out 5 Dec 2013 (News)
    The government has announced that paper tax discs will no longer be needed from October 2014. Owners will no longer be required to display a paper tax disc in their windscreen and will instead tax cars online, with a car’s status as taxed, untaxed or SORN recorded in a database linked to the registration. According to a BBC report ahead of the 2013 Autumn Statement, the changes will make it possible to pay for car tax by direct debit, making it more affordable for some car owners.

    It's been a significant few weeks for car recalls, with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) issuing national alerts for more than 225,000 vehicles. The recalls affect some of Britain's favourite cars and includes the BMW 3 Series, Honda Jazz and Vauxhall Corsa.  Volkswagen is also recalling 3800 cars over a seat belt and airbag problem, while Citroen, Honda, BMW and Vauxhall are issuing national alerts over airbag faults.  There are also some significant issues with Porsche and Maserati, with the later recalling the Ghibli and Quattroporte over a fuel leak.

  • Vauxhall recalls 220,000 Zafiras over fire risk 6 Nov 2015 (News)
    Vauxhall is recalling 220,000 Zafira B models in the UK over potential fire risk. Recalled cars will be inspected to ensure parts of the heating system are safe and, if necessary, those parts will be replaced at no cost to the owner. If parts are not available Vauxhall says it will “consider the customer’s onward mobility requirements.” Around 130 owners have reported their Zafira B filling with smoke without warning, before the car catching fire.
