What's happened to weekly/monthly quick checks? 28 Nov 2016 (Forum)
5) I was going to add that it is also very rare to see a car bonnet UP! Most cars I see are fairly new, some luxury, many 4x4's all with, I suspect, long service intervals. Do people not bother any more with these basic essentials ? -
Audi A3 Sportback - All Season Tyre Pressures 30 Jun 2016 (Forum)
However the tyre pressure sticker on my car lists 32/29 PSI for 91Y tyres and 35/32 for 94V XL M+S. So should I go with the higher or lower pressures, or somewhere inbetween? -

Audi S3 - Imports 11 May 2016 (Forum)
When entering in the reg number to pay for the Dartford crossing, it came up with the suffix "S-A" after the model type. This made me suspicious that it may be an import and I now notice that the car came via Paragon Automotive who seem to specialise in perparing imports for the UK market. -
Any - Roadwork planning numpties 4 Dec 2014 (Forum)
I'm fairly convinced now that our roadworks are planned by m****s, or by people who actively enjoy creating problems. The disgraceful mess of roadworks around the Western Bypass in Newcastle has rendered the A1 a commuting no-go zone - so the genuises have now reduced the A690 to a single lane contraflow putting any commuters from Durham into the situation of picking which set of traffic jams they would like to sit in. -
Ford SMax 1.8tdci lx 2007 - Engine management light / stop bulb fault 24 Oct 2014 (Forum)
Ford S-Max Just brought a SMax today and drove it for 2 hours back home. (Second hand) it didn't skip a beat. Parked up at home and had dinner. After which started up again to 'pop to the shop' and 'stop built fault' came up in the centre dash. -
Road Noise - Tyres? 28 Jun 2014 (Forum)
A few people have suggested that this may in part be due to the tyres which are Hankook Ventus Prime 2's. Many on the Hyundai forums have recommended Conti Premium Contacts as being a good way to reduce this but I'm sceptical. Whilst I'd accept that certain tyres will reduce noise can I expect such a significant difference so as to justify the £300 ish it will cost? -

Any - Diesels cutting out 14 Dec 2013 (Forum)
Yesterday HJ posted a Q/A in his Ask HJ section from Roppa http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/askhj/answer/48052/engine-cut-out-on-motorway---what-s-the-cause - Today, I have seen that the RAC is suspecting that modern "green" diesel containing bio-oils may be responsible for diesel filters blocking in cold weather. Could the two be related? -
7 seater 22 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Neither of these seem to be made anymore and the only big one left seems to be the Chrysler GV which seems to be on its last legs (and is horrible for car tax with 207 gms of CO). Everyone seems to point to the S-Max. Does anyone have any ideas? Need to get 3 kids in plus lots of luggage for fairly regular trips to Normandy and up north. Any ideas? Thanks Paul -

Mazda 6 - Mazda 6 - any good? 10 Feb 2012 (Forum)
I have been a fan of the blue oval for many years, and my best car to date was my ST200. I need a diesel car for commuting (or a car on LPG) . I have been looking at Mazda 6's (due to price) and was wondering if they are a reliable car? Just to put it into context, the Mondeo has been mine for less than 6 months and has already eaten every penny of my savings. £700 has been put into it already. -
Young drivers insurance. 1 Nov 2011 (Forum)
My Cost Centre 2 who is 18 is wanting to learn to drive and the insurance quotes we have been getting have been ludicrous. He even got one for £11K the other day for a 90,s Panda 1.0. Were can I get some ideas on what are the real cheapest cars to insure, most reliable, cheapest easiest to maintain etc etc? Does anyone know of a broker or insurance company who will take on learner drivers in their own car and then NOT load the insurance once they have passed? -
